The nice thing about most Land Cruisers is that they are very friendly to learning how to do the work yourself. I've had too many experiences like yours to leave the rig to chance with someone I don't know wrenching on it. -H-

Nope...just 'Cruisers.... Likely the rig has never had a birf job done, so it's time to learn. Generally, the nice thing is that birfs, once done, will be well enough left alone for 60K or so.... -H-

Dry is not good....with bad seals, and nothing inside the birfs, it will appear dry. Good seals, and good grease inside will still look a tad wet, but clean on the outside. There is an access port on the top of each knuckle. I'd suggest unscrewing that, and at the very least giving it a few...

I need to update my 70 series thread...but I just installed the National Luna Kit and used it through baja.... All I can say is...Wow...what a great kit! Plenty of quality hardware and easy to install! I really can't recommend it enough. Worth every penny. -H-

Just put two Odyssey batteries in my 70 with a National Luna system...did great on ten days through Baja.... -H-

I built my rig for about $3000, including tires and the second hand roof tent/OME springs etc. I updated some photos in the thread and bumped it. Never found I needed lockers. If I got stuck, which I only did once...I just pulled winch cable and was out no problemo. -H-

What model? Some of the 40 series have windshield leaks...some of the 80 series have sunroof drain issues when they get clogged.... -H-
