Craigslist Find For The Ford Types...

Interesting information! I was not aware of that particular camper. Thanks for sharing. That does make the Bronco more interesting, if indeed it has that style of camper.... Casey

Craigslist Find For The Ford Types...

At least the camper built for the Blazer platform was actually built to fit the Blazer body.... that Bronco obviously has a standard camper slid in there. I wonder how they're keeping dirt and dust out of that massive gap between the cab and camper? Casey

300K miles on the ol' 6.5L diesel....

Yes, the 6.5L turbodiesel was available in the Suburbans from 1994 through 1999, and produced in much higher quantities than the 2-door Tahoe. Why GM never made a diesel 4-door Tahoe is beyond me. Casey

    Sleeping Arrangements

Yes you can. I just cut some window screen out of a large roll from a hardware store, and attach it to the rear of my Tahoe with magnets with the lift hatch opened. I also have screens for the front windows as well. Casey

    Ford 7.3L Diesel Question

Yes, all 7.3L Powerstroke diesels were completely computer controlled with no accelerator cables. This engine debuted midway through the 1994 model year as a drive-by-wire system, meaning there is no accelerator cable and no mechanical connection between the accelerator pedal and the engine. I...

A few questions of longtime Chevy/GMC IFS 4wd owners.

I've got 300,000 miles on my 1995 Tahoe IFS. It's been off-roaded as well. No issues other than normal wear and tear items. Casey

    Ford 7.3L Diesel Question

Ditto on The Diesel Stop. Excellent Powerstroke resource. I had a 1995 E350 7.3L diesel that had an intermittent CEL and Limp mode problem. Turned out to be the accelerator pedal. (It's a drive-by-wire model, so it communicates with the PCM). Replaced the pedal assembly, and problem went...

300K miles on the ol' 6.5L diesel....

At one time, a company called DSG made an aftermarket gear drive kit for the 6.2L and 6.5L. I had one in my old 6.2L that I had hopped-up with turbo and over-bored block. They quit making them, and then started again, and then quit making them again. They're kind of hard to come by now. Casey

Sweet ride, Chili! Too bad my rig didn't get the Dana 60 option box checked when it was built! ;) Casey

300K miles on the ol' 6.5L diesel....

Thanks! Agreed. I think that's one of the reasons my particular 6.5L is in such great condition.... it really lives a pretty easy life in the 2-door Tahoe. I guarantee you that a 1995 6.5L K3500 dually would not live such an easy life. My Tahoe does get used to tow once in a while, but...

300K miles on the ol' 6.5L diesel....

Thanks! I'm glad to hear you had luck with your electronic pump. I'm on my third injection pump, and at least 3 or 4 other PMD's. I never leave home with a spare PMD now. Not too bad, considering the miles, really. I've upgraded to the dual thermostat as well, and modified my engine fan...

300K miles on the ol' 6.5L diesel....

Are you sure about that year? There was no '92 Yukon Diesel. The Blazers and Jimmys had the mechanical 6.2L through 1991, and then there was no 2-door or Suburban diesel for 92 and 93. In 1994, they were available again with the electronic 6.5L. I've replaced several injection pumps on the...

Introduction and 1st of MANY ?'s

Yes. There were gobs of them built with the mechanical 6.2L naturally aspirated diesel from 1982 until 1991. Then in 1994, the newer GMT-400 came with the electronic turbocharged 6.5L diesel. The 6.2L's are great, simple, reliable, and cheap, and parts are available everywhere. A bit...

300K miles on the ol' 6.5L diesel....

Thanks! I've owned many 6.2L's and 6.5L's over the past 21 years now. I've always liked them. Cheap, simple, and reliable. Of course, the old mechanically-injected versions are the best. I'd feel much better with a mechanical pump under my hood instead of the electronic version... Casey

300K miles on the ol' 6.5L diesel....

Hit a major milestone today: rolled over 300,000 miles on my 1995 Tahoe diesel! I've owned this rig just over 10 years now, and she's been super reliable for me. Other than the expected maintenance and wear items (alternator, starter, a/c compressor, injection pump, etc), she's not...

My daughter was "helping" me install some new shoes: I finally wore out the Kenda M/T's after 32K miles, so I decided to go with the new BFG All Terrain K02's. Casey
