    Sold my RTT...Why??

I love your post, thank you for the chuckles. I have a young friend who is 6'5" and he too hates his softshell RTT probably for the same reasons. The last time we went camping, he slept inside his 80 series Landcruiser. Another friend and I went to the White Rim and during one super windy...

ARB LED Touring awning center droop

I don't think you're doing anything wrong, but the material may not have been pulled tight enough before stitching. In another words, if the pivot ends at the spine were farther apart from another by, say 3/4", that might make that end of the awning taught. Does this sound about right?

Using Dometic Go Hydration Water faucet with other containers

    Power tools on the trail

My answer is none! :-) Philosophically, power tools are for projects on my driveway, not for repairing a field fix. When someone breaks down on the trail, they have all the time in the world. However, I am fortunate enough to have a York OBA so I could use a die grinder for cutting if it was...

    Tool Overkill?

This is an interesting thread and quite amusing to read. Everyone has their ideas of what's "enough" when it comes to carrying tools. After many years of wheeling, I too carry tools in bags vs boxes due to the noise and rattling. I think my vehicle tool kit looks similar to Herbie's, plus or...

Portable battery and 12v outlet question

Good points! Having the lagest size/capacity battery stuffed into the battery holder will take care of both of those needs. Granted, if you're base camping for a week and not moving daily, the fridge will definitely run down your battery and a supplemental charging (solar or start the engine)...

Portable battery and 12v outlet question

I'm going to answer the 12v outlet question with a question. Why are so many folks buying and adding yet another battery inside their vehicles when they have one under the hood? The space in my rigs are premium and I can't see bringing a head crushing battery pack inside the cab. It's...

Using Dometic Go Hydration Water faucet with other containers

My gf got one of these link from Amazon and we're gonna try it out in her Casita camper this weekend. They look simple enough and I'm guessing all are made in China so a generic knock off oughta work for our application.

    Water tank between trips?

I have a water bladder that lives under the second row platform and it's used for non potable use. The 5g Scepter water can gets refilled before a trip from the typical grocery store filter water dispensers. They both live in the landcrusier which isn't a DD and sits for weeks between usage...

DIY sight glass mod for a 5 gal jerry can for water level

It's time to update this thread with my solution. It's been in action for few months and I'm pleased with the outcome. I made a simple level indicator with a clear vinyl hose and two 90deg barbed fittings from this eBay seller. It's a tad pricey but it's worth it, I think. One caveat...
