    ExPo Garages: Lets see them!

I thought I better get a picture up here before I messed the place up again. Went from a 12x24x7 to this last year. I should have done it 10 years ago. Full of junk for the project truck. and an older shot before adding the second row of shelving to go to the cieling

    Camping energy sources

Hey Conrad, Good to see you on this sight, There is a TON of info on here and some really cool stuff. We started off with a Coleman dual fuel stove and always burned white gas. They work great, will last forever and are reasonably priced. We also had a regular Coleman lamp that also burned...

Which direction to go with my FJ62?

If you find a good source for the tanks, please post up. I would love one as well, but man-o-man $$$$ especially on the shipping.

Which direction to go with my FJ62?

I am kinda in the same boat as you. I got all caught up in the hardcore "trail" rig and went too big with my "adventure" rig...but also like you, I am not willing to go back at this point. but I am in the precess of building a crawler, so you never know. I don't see anything wrong with a...

Thanks. I posted it up on the MEC classifieds as well. Is the price fair for a used tent? It's in great shape?

    Winch, Longs, or Hi-Steer

Well, don't rule it out. I was a hater of the body lift until I installed a 2" lift on my 61. I love it and I think it looks great. I have side and end pictures if you want to see it. I also installed poly body mounts at the same time. I can't wait to see your truck in Alaska. My rig is...

    Importing a Japanese Cruiser...

G&S typically doesn't import full cruisers. Parts only. I would check out http://www.outbackimports.ca/ there are also quite a few threads over on Ih8mud about importing your own and I believe if you search over their there will be a list of importers.

    Onboard Air Research

I would be really interested in seeing the encloser you come up with. I am going to do some research on a semi permanent/semi portable set up for my truck so I can undo/remove it if water becomes a concern.

    Onboard Air Research

great choice! I just picked one of these up from Sierra Expeditions. What are you going to do for water proofing it? Or is it a concern? On my truck, I think it may get submerged once in a while...

    Winch, Longs, or Hi-Steer

I voted longs but you need to get the steering squared away. I am not sure that 4x4labs is the best to do that on a highly lifted SUA truck. In my experience, you will destroy the birfields in a heavy laden 60 on 35s... My 40 did better on the 33s with only one broken birf, but the 60 ate...

    Awning without roof rack

Has anybody tackled this problem? I really don't want to run with a set of racks just for an awning, but it might be my only option?? Has anybody come up with a system for doing this? the stand alone awnings "might" work, but they need to cover a portion of my vehicle, that stands at 7'8"...

    Sale at Sierra Expeditions

I was in no way knocking SE shipping. Wendy has been top notch in getting my order out. My beef is with the shipping companies with brokerage fees and inflated rates to canada. I can't wait for my hi-lift and air compressor to show up!

    Sale at Sierra Expeditions

Shipping to Canada SUCKS!! I can never figure out why it costs UPS $25 to ship something coast to coast in the US but costs $125 to ship it up north!! Oh well... I spent too much money today on what I hope is a great air compressor. (and a few other goodies as well)

    Snorkel = Snake Oil ?

Like others have stated, it also depends on what vehicle you are driving and what other modifications for fording water you have done. For myself, I am lucky that my Land Cruiser has no electronics controlling it once it gets running. No distributor or computer to worry about. The only issues...
