    Looking for a "survival rifle"

A friend of mine has a cool little .22 survival rifle. It all breaks down and fits inside the synthetic stock. It weighs something like 2-3 pounds. Otherwise, I have a lightweight .270 win that can take care of most anything in NA (if you place the shot right). I don't recall how much it...

Best way to carry more fuel???

What you hadn't mentioned was whether or not cost is an issue. An aux tank complete setup can run quite a few $$. I would like to add one to my rig, but the cost is high and I worry about it being exposed to large rocks. On the 80 it would mount under the large overhanging ******** of the vehicle...

    WooHoo!! Finally going Quail hunting

I'd like to do Pheasant sometime. And duck is next on my list. :chowtime: Glad you had some good luck and fun!

    WooHoo!! Finally going Quail hunting

Got 2 quail on our sunday hunt and had a blast! I cooked them up with a little sea salt and thyme with olive oil and some eggs over easy. MMMM MMMMM... I had to kill one of them 3 times. I shot him, then he kept moving around in my pack. I pulled his neck and thought I broke it, 5 minutes later...

    WooHoo!! Finally going Quail hunting

No dog, our family pet is a bit gunshy. We're talking about heading out again this sunday. I may pick up a stamp for duck and get some steel shot. There is a nice pond where we quail hunt and there are always some mallards and a couple other kinds around there.

    WooHoo!! Finally going Quail hunting

No birds! It was 32* and winds were strong. The covies didn't want to leave their hiding spots. We got a couple shots off, but didn't hit anything. Saw a beautiful owl in flight. I, however, did get some much needed exercise for my fat ********.:shakin:

    WooHoo!! Finally going Quail hunting

For the first time in years, I'm finally going Quail hunting in the a.m. Hopefully we can limit out. I got a new shotgun earlier this year and haven't even used it yet. Remington 870 Wingmaster 12ga, 28". I'll be using 7-1/2 shot and some 6 shot. I'll post some pics of the...

    Beer Question

I've never had any break in the cooler, but carrying around the empties is a pain. I usually just take something more hi-powered in a nalgene bottle (read- good tequila or bourbon). I've learned I'm better off not taking beer. I'll sit around in the evening and drink 6-10 bottles. Thats a lot...

    Christmas is coming early!

Congrats! that looks like the one that was delivered back to him when he brought mine to Tucson. The guy bringing it back was trading the rental for his new Chaser. Hey is that a Piggy I spy behind the trailer?

    Affordable solar panels!

Thats an interesting site. Do you know anyone who has done it? I would love to do solar, but that site sounds almost to good to be true.

    iPod Integration

Scott, I'm running an Eclipse deck with Eclipse iPod adapter box. I control the iPod thru the deck and the deck displays what song is on. I set the whole thing to random and use it when offroad. Eclipse are really nice decks also.

    Gears and Locker questions

I agree with Terri on driving open for a while. It's a great way to develope some driving skill. I drove my 80 that way for a couple years, then put an Aussie locker in the rear. Drove it that way for another year then put in 4.88's and an ARB front locker. This combo works pretty well in my 80...

    Winter Camping With AT Chaser

Camped out last weekend with the family and forgot to tell my wife about letting the faucet drain back. She got some water at night before bed and left the pump primed and it froze solid. Don't know what the temp was, but my guess was lower 20's. SO, let the faucet drain back and you will be OK.

    Hi-Lift Problems / Malfunctions

Sorry about your frustrations Jamie. I've had mine act up before and it sucks. I actually took a blow on the back of the jaw from the handle when it finally released. Knocked me on my ********, but thankfully didn't break my jaw. Stupid mistake on my part, I knew better than to stick my head in...

Gardner Canyon with Expo surprise :-)

I think my family would get jealous of all the cool stuff yours has. My wife thought it would have been cool if you camped with us that night, then her and Zoe would take over your heated tent and you would be sleeping in the Eezi-awn with me.:shakin: January is out for me, but for the most...
