    Expedition Vehicle Must-haves?

Thats what I'm saying! I would build the 60. Classic look, ultra reliable and easy to work on (unless you do some crazy engine swap). Keep it simple.

AT Chaser vs. Horizon / Pros and Cons?

Bling was the short way of saying : we realized that after all the years we've spent backpacking and camping, do we really need a solar powered fridge? It would've been just bling for us. It sounded really cool though!! What really mattered was that we like the Horizon and it's basic features...

AT Chaser vs. Horizon / Pros and Cons?

We talked about it and gave it some thought and realized that the fridge and solar was more "bling" than we really want. So we're gonna go with a basic Horizon and tent. Can't wait to place the order and get that bad-boy here!

AT Chaser vs. Horizon / Pros and Cons?

I've been talking with Martyn and we're getting ready to pull the trigger on a Horizon with 1800 tent and fridge with solar system. The fridge sliding out the rear was the reason we we're going with the Horizon. The cargo boxes on the sides are also great. Should be placing the order in the next...

Being a parent has changed my thinking. How about you?

I used to backpack and hike like crazy, pretty much every weekend before marriage and after marriage. Then along came Zoe and I haven't been backpacking in 5 years and only short hikes few and far between. She's 5 now and we have started to take small hikes together, backpacking will be in the...

    Chiva falls trail officially adopted!

I'm not a part of Tucson Offroad, but seeing this, I think I will look into them. I caught this link on another forum and thought I would spread the good news. Jake (trailbus) and I have hauled quite a bit of garbage out from there in the past.

    Do-It-Yourself Bedliners

    Do-It-Yourself Bedliners

floating around here somewhere is a pic or 2 of my rig. I used Durabak on the sides and hood. Make sure to use the UV stuff. It costs more but will hold up better.

    portable air ... revisited

I feel that air is important and therefore I have 3 options in my rig at all times. I have a 10lb Co2 tank which cost me $14 per fill at the local fire protection supplier ( United Fire on 4th ave for those in Tucson). Thats the fastes option but I tend to save it for things like reseating...

My obsessive search for the "right" backpack

I really like Dana Designs packs. I started out with a Jansport internal frame, lets just say it had a lot of quality issues and after 2 years was replaced with a Dana. I've had the Dana for about 8-10 years now. Pricey, but worth it. I bought it at Summit Hut in Tucson, where the staff will...

    airsoft pellet tire balancing?

I just picked up 10000 .12g orange ABS airsoft pellets. $21 and change at Paintball HQ here in Tucson. Thats 240g per tire (5 tires) which is equal to 8.4oz. I'll let you all know how they work out after I test em.
