If you are now towing, then there is no advantage. Sure a little bit better MPG but a much higher cost to fill the same number of gallons.
Higher cost to run and fix can you say diesel exhaust fluid? not to mention more parts and anything newer is going to be all souped up and running on...
I run the Hankook Dana Pro ATM in 10 ply
I have 55k on them and they have about a third tread left. It is starting to wear faster now.
BUT I have a tacoma.
However a lot of those miles have been off road and under load with Fire wood etc.
A lot of those miles have been for 4x4 driving...
I had a 2010 OB Sport for two years and put 45k of hard miles on it.
I guess Gutless and ability are prospective. Mine had the 2.5 with a five speed and I rocked that thing all over utah, up over some of the high passes in CO and into WY and ID. Lot of Dirt miles. Most of it logging roads and...
What it also comes down to is sure you might be able to carry it and dont mind the weight but the space it takes up?
That is not something I am willing to give up.
I can carry my 4 season bivy and a sleeping pad for the weight of one of those cots.
As chris mentioned there just is not a lot...
I know that we all like to talk about how weak the tacos are right out of the factory. I think for what they are they do just fine. If you want to put 4 grand in the bed buy something else, I do however Collect wood all of the time here in the mountains of Idaho. Thats my summer weekends, Load...
Well.... I think that the tacoma looks better then I thought it would.
With that being said as a Reg cab fan boy, I will miss having that option. Who know perhaps they will change their mind when I go to replace my 2012 reg cab five speed.
Cheers,
holy upward facing LED's batman!
joking...
I am also interasted in the house hold stuff running off what appears to be a small solar set up.
End of the day this is just plain cool!
Huge fan of the hydro flask mugs and bottles. I can make coffee in the morning and if I warm the mug up first with boiling water it will still be piping hot in the after noon. they have all sorts of sizes and shapes and are well worth the money. I have had one for about six months and just got...
The problem that I have run into with the Sazall is limitations on what they can do. Over all great tool to have but they suck through batts wicked fast and if it is a decent sized limb or tree will struggle.
If it is just fire wood the OP is looking for then he should be able to find all he...
gonna have to stick with Sthil on this one.
I have a ms290 that I run a 20 inch bar on. I got it for a killer deal from the dealer because some one had come in the weekend before and run it for a few hours and said it was too heavy..... hmmmm
Needless to say the dealer made sure it was all...
I think that the whole 2.7 vs 4.0 comes down to what that person likes. When I bought my 2.7 I just could not face spending the extra money on a motor that I didnt need.
The truck felt really slow at first but I was coming from a 2010 five speed subaru out back sport that was really fun and...
I have learned to not trust them much past oil changes. I thought it seems a bit strange so I just skipped it. I am just going to do it my self and save some cash since the parts are not much money.
Everything I have read says its not a good idea to flat tow 4x4 and AWD rigs. With that being said when you start disconnecting things like mentioned above I know several folks who have done it. Why not keep your eyes open for a cheap dual axel trailer ? It seems to me like this would be a...
While I can not speak to buying things on that sight, I have found that the " Un branded twins" to be crap in the past.
I have gotten the short end of the stick more then once.
Perhaps some one else will have a better experience then I, or perhaps some one has gotten an RTT from them and can...
That seems a bit steep since it is a 5 year old truck at this point. not super low miles or high miles. The towing is another thing. Sure its a truck it was meant to do a job but that does not mean that the last owner did the job right.
I walked out of the dealer ship with a brand new taco (...
Look fairly stout. When you start thinking about what a new 4x4 RV costs or even some of the recent used and then converted 4x4's this looks like a decent deal. I think the new motor would be the selling point for me.
The down side would be the low top sped and MPG's
thing is a beast.
Toyota told me to change the plugs on my 2012 2.7 at 30 k. Opps have not yet done it. Plan on swapping them with the 60k interval I am about to do. They seems to be doing just fine. I find that with the 2.7 unless you need the 4lo for climbing up wicked steep stuff ( or going down for that...
