Overland Explorer Expedition Cabin on 2020 Ford F350

The Xantrex inverter/charger is not involved in charging from the engine alternators so it will not limit the charging amps there, it is only used to charge the batteries from 120v shore power or generator power.

    Whats next at EarthCruiser

The TerraNova is designed for 350/3500 trucks not 550/5500 trucks isn’t it? Would a hard top version need a 550/5500?

Overland Explorer Expedition Cabin on 2020 Ford F350

I would figure out your typical daily power requirements for the rest of the year when you get decent solar power and size your solar array to meet those needs, especially if you tend to stay in place at one spot for awhile. It is nice to not have to run a generator or engine. Assume 25-35 AH...

Overland Explorer Expedition Cabin on 2020 Ford F350

We have 720 AH of lithium batteries and 1000 watts of solar. Using the rule of thumb of 25-35 AH of battery charge per 100 watts of solar panels, we should get 250-350 AH of solar charging and this is what we get until we get into winter or extended cloudy weather. At the moment in Southern...

Overland Explorer Expedition Cabin on 2020 Ford F350

Power draw is 22 watts each and we keep the cabin above 60 deg F and they seem to be effective.

My experience is with the MaxxAir fan (I have the model with the built in cover that keeps the rain out) is that the problem is with moisture that is condensing inside the fan in the cold from the humid air in the cabin. I run 2 small dehumidifiers and open the fan cover every day when the cabin...

Thanks, Advanced RV is pretty well known and the B-Box would be in a class of it’s own in terms of quality, price, and customization. Will be interesting to see their first one on a Transit. Is the Transit you built a diesel or gasoline? If gasoline, what products did you choose for heat, hot...

For a buyer who doesn’t want the DIY option, do you have a list of companies that can do a high quality build for a Transit camper similar to the one you have done using your panels, doors, windows, etc. ?

    Winnebago EKKO

I don’t have a problem with DRW myself for the type of travel we would do in something like the EKKO, in fact I would prefer DRW, but other people seem to have issues with DRW for the way they use their truck and I was wondering if there was a SRW conversion possible. Our current Kenworth truck...

    Winnebago EKKO

Is there a technical reason why there won’t be an aftermarket option for a SRW conversion on the EKKO while keeping the higher GVWR?

    Crew cab USA question

Yes, currently EarthCruiser is converting Fuso gasoline trucks to 4wd and they are switching to Chevy (Isuzu) gasoline trucks for the 4wd conversions next year. They sell the truck without the camper if you just want the 4wd conversion done.

I still have my Svea 123 white fuel stove that I bought for backpacking in 1968. Still works fine and I take it hiking. Familiar with the startup fire... :) Colin Fletcher must have gotten a whole lot of those stoves sold...

    Winnebago EKKO

True but the EKKO comes standard with a 320 AH lithium battery with the option of a second 320 AH battery. Our current truck has 720 AH lithium and we have no problems with a dual burner induction cooktop and a countertop electric oven. If I bought one, I would definitely have the second battery...
