Discussion on the 2021 Isuzu/Chevy 6.6L Gas Cabover Platform

There are definitely other options besides EC for the 4wd conversion of an Isuzu NPR. I have seen several mentioned here, see if a search finds them.

Switching from Ford E-Series to FC/cabover (like Sportsmobile to Earthcruiser 4x4)?

Switching from Ford E-Series to FC/cabover (like Sportsmobile to Earthcruiser 4x4)?

Very good, higher than the EKKO which being sold at around $125,000 but it isn’t as well insulated. Front seats part of the camper on yours?

Switching from Ford E-Series to FC/cabover (like Sportsmobile to Earthcruiser 4x4)?

1/5 of an EarthRoamer LT base price would be $120K. Is that with a finished interior?

Switching from Ford E-Series to FC/cabover (like Sportsmobile to Earthcruiser 4x4)?

The Transit doesn’t have the GVWR for those applications so the E series may just go on a lot longer than they predicted, must be good profits with the development costs low at this point.

    8x8 Man Kat

Here is an example of a US military surplus 6x6 converted to a camper, currently for sale but maybe not the layout you would want. https://expeditionportal.com/forum/threads/2016-gxv-6x6-fmtv-29’-w-gear-garage.215271/

    8x8 Man Kat

That is a big leap to an 8x8, if you could live with a 6x6 then you could go with an Acela 6x6 or the original 6x6 military surplus truck. https://www.acelatruck.com/trucks/monterra-6x6

Switching from Ford E-Series to FC/cabover (like Sportsmobile to Earthcruiser 4x4)?

Buy an E series cutaway and get a 4 wheel drive conversion and have a Total Composites box mounted to create your own custom EKKO like rig. Total Composites can refer you to companies that can do as much of the build as you want...

Kenworth K270/K370 and Peterbilt Model 200 4x4 Conversion and Misc Questions

Not sure driving a bare 2wd chassis is going to tell you much since without any weight it is not going to ride very well and the front suspension and tires will be nothing like the final build. Maybe you could take a GXV for a test drive at GXV if they have one available. The 4wd conversion...

Kenworth K270/K370 and Peterbilt Model 200 4x4 Conversion and Misc Questions

Our 33,000 lb GVWR GXV is titled as a motorhome and has been registered in Michigan originally and now Florida. Regular drivers license is legal to drive motorhomes of any weight in those two states which would make it legal in all states where you drive. Have no idea what happens anywhere else...

Kenworth K270/K370 and Peterbilt Model 200 4x4 Conversion and Misc Questions

Road manners are fine. Insure through Progressive but cost won’t apply since it is insured for full replacement value at the GXV price.
