We briefly discussed buying new wheels for a few days. While I like the look of the Baja wheels I found out my wife doesn't. She shopped online and found a set she likes. Fuel Revolver D525s. Nice looking wheels.
We got our calculator and started adding up total costs. Wheels are expensive...
In an effort to gain some expedition style street cred we finally made an upgrade that we've been holding off on for a while collecting the necessary parts until we were ready. After months of saving and acquiring we took the time to add our steekers!
And for an added bonus: For our...
Here is a photo showing our side awnings. One side has the changing room walls down, the other side shows them rolled up. This is from last year's Expo East. We had all of our Kelty tarps and our EZ Up deployed to stay dry
We are nearly empty nesters ourselves. Decided a few years ago to build a teardrop that would suit our future travel plans.
Ours is tall for a teardrop but that extra height is all storage for supplies. We didn't want anything stored on the beds while traveling and having a basement works...
What dates are you looking at for Chincoteague?
We're not even close to Williamsburg. We're at King George. It's right off route 301 before you get into Maryland. If you're up this far you're welcome to camp in the driveway - no wilderness but it's better than a koa.
Stankfoot was down...
I can't believe you paid that much money for a truck and took it out on the beach! The sand and salt will ruin your brand new truck!
That's what I was told Several years ago concerning our Tundra. Just thought I'd pass that along. Lol
Looks like an awesome time. Cape Lookout is and always...
We use a deck bag on each of ours. It holds the stuff you might need at any time.

We also have four of these to store clothes, sleeping bags and other camping gear...
We got our front seat covers on finally. Well, "we" didn't, my wife did. I was busy with another project on the CrowsWing (trailer) so she installed the seat covers. They've done their job already saving some spilt coffee from staining the seats. I think I may spray them with some waterproofing...
Here's the latest eagle shots from our most recent Potomac River fossil hunting trip. One eagle was flying around with his feet hanging down the whole time. Looked a little funny to me but, then again, I can't fly so he's one up on me.
There were some, uh, not eagle stuff too....
Why is there no"like" button on expo?
Why is there no jelly smiley?
So very jealous of your camping time! We've managed all of four nights in our teardrop so far this year. It's been so wet here.
You can cover the piano hinge with a piece of rubber. Seal it down with sealant along it's...
If the trailer is light weight when loaded the straight tongue will be fine.
Measure the tow vehicle from the receiver to the outside of the fender or bumper. This will be the minimum length for the tongue to allow you to jack-knife the trailer.
Back up lights are always good.
Engaging Ultragage Gauges
From day one of ownership I've wanted some way to monitor the "need to know" information about the engine and transmission. I've owned all kinds of vehicles, and I'm always disappointed with the gauge clusters provided by the factory. From my 65 wagon, which had a...
Agree with this. I can hook mine up by myself fairly easily now. It's even easier if you have a trusted partner to assist with backing the vehicle to the trailer. My wife and I have a pretty good routine down when it's time to hitch up.
