    3rd Gen 4Runner: Beginning

Nice looking third gen! As a fellow third gen owner I think you will really enjoy it, 265/75/16's are a great size tire for this truck and with a skilled driver can and will take you some impressive places. Enjoy and keep the pics coming! Mike

    ATRAC damage, discussion.

ATRAC From what I have seen in of ATRAC in action I will offer my two cents, and what I have seen in action is a bone stock FJ Cruiser TT on 265/75/16's in moab with a competent but fairly inexperienced driver. ATRAC Seems to do a very, very good job of keeping forward progress happening. Is...

    RMP&O's v8 80-series

Nice looking truck! I have been dreaming about a 60 or 80 series for a while now, and it seems like even though i have driven the newer 80 series with the more powerful inline 6, it could use some more power, a smallish gm v8 mated to a nice auto solves that problem nicely. I will be curious to...

    School me!!

The 2.7 in newer Tacoma's seems to be pretty potent little motor, I was riding around in a good friends ext cab with a 2.7 and 5 speed and was most impressed. To be clear I wasn't driving but we had 4 people packed into that truck and it was loaded with mountain bikes, gear, and a heavy...

Ran across this today on CL...

Kaisen, All valid points, but if someone is looking for a buy and go truck, without having to do any wrenching (or pay someone to do it) and without having to wait to have it built, then that might be the truck for them. And I'm not sure that i would call it "used expedition crap"....Icon...

Ran across this today on CL...

Kaisen, As you have pointed out numberous times, the resale of tacoma's is high. For what those trucks fetch in my neck of the woods, thats a decent deal. I'm sure you don't agree..... Mike

Ran across this today on CL...

Nice truck, and a decent price it would seem for what has been done to it. Might suggest this gets moved to the for sale section. Mike

    Zam15’s Tacoma Build

The top link looks more like a single A arm with either a large uniball or flex joint positioned with the bolt vertical. You can see how it bolts up just above the third member. After I saw the pics I was really hoping to find some more info on this setup! Mike

    Mr Rooster-> 4th Gen 4Runner build

Is there something slightly askew with your exhaust in that second pic? Were the upper isolators a 4th gen part? Mike

    Bought a 2014 Tundra tonight...

I'm fairly certain the OP wasn't looking for advice on which half ton to purchase, or to find out if a gas or diesel is "better" Anyway, congrats on the new truck! Looks like an excellent platform and I have no doubt you will be happy with it! Mike

You might look at the box rocket Tacoma build for roof rack ideas, Adam came up with a really slick setup! Mike

3rd Gen Toyota Pickup - Budget Expo Build

For 8k, I think you are going to have quite the setup! More importantly, you are going to have an 8k truck that is mechanically sound and "fresh", capable of what you are planning to do with it, and most importantly (in my mind) a vehicle you know inside and out. Mike

What do you think of a 2.7 5 speed 3rd gen?

Given what sort of resale i have seen lately on 3rz third gens, i would say grab it! They seem to be fetching ridiculous prices, at least in my neck of the woods, where are you? Mike

Maintain the sport...what else to replace

Mitsu When I got my sport I did a similar "baselining" and can offer some food for thought. You will never have better access to the valve cover and spark plug tube seals, so I would do them while you are in there. Once you have the intake manifold off, they are very easy to get to, make sure...
