    The Status of Overlanding Today

I'm a little late to the thread here but as someone who works in the overland industry, I love making fun of ourselves. I call the modern overland trend the "2020s version of the early 2000s Fast and the Furious tuner fad". Everyone wanted a Honda, Acura, Supra, RX7 and now everyone wants a...

1994 Land Cruiser, Price Lowered - 150k miles, Factory Triple Locked

Pricing is reasonable given the condition, low mileage, extensive service and now the discontinuation/heritage of the collectible Land Cruiser. Put it on BaT, someone will buy it.

    Utah is Rad !

Utah is great, looks like a fun trip. My only request for anyone visiting our beautiful state is to please learn how to poop in the great outdoors. Please dig appropriate holes or, better yet, carry a toilet and pack it out. Also, have fun out here!

    Introducing the Eezi-Awn Swift Awning

It looks like the ARB sailtrack is probably larger than what you find on the Eezi Awn rafter arms. This is the best photo I can find and it appears to be larger in diameter. Not sure it would work. Thanks,

Space between roof rack and the roof.

We slide tables under our roof racks. Should work the same for solar panels. https://www.equipt1.com/collections/roof-rack-accessories/products/k9-camp-table-mount

First Gen Sequoia Suspension, Anyone have some recent homework that I can copy?

Talk to Josh @ 1stgenoffroad.com, he specifically deals with Tundras and Sequoias. He's a rad dude and can get you pointed in the right direction. 1stgenoffroad.com I replaced brakes and suspension on my '05 when I picked it up. 2" OME coils in the rear with the Nitro Charger shocks with...

Need help on choosing a suv!

I went first gen Sequoia, I spent $5K, put around $3K into and I'm feeling pretty confident in the reliability at this point. I could have spent around $10K for a lower mileage specimen but it wasn't in the budget for a second vehicle. The 4.7L V8 is one of the few motors I'd buy with high mileage.

    Smartphone apps on new fridges

I've owned multiple fridges, had a Dometic with the BT app and now I'm using a National Luna. I look at the BT app as a feature designed by the marketing team. Some have found it useful but I think it's a marketing gimmick. At what point on a trip do I need to change the temp in my fridge, at...

    First Gen Tundra Recovery Points

Bumping this again, seeing as the 1st gen Sequoias are gaining popularity, I'm hoping someone has found a good solution. I've used the factory tow points on my '05 Sequoia but I question those. There are aftermarket bumper options coming out but those tend to be $1000-$2000. I've found these...

I'll go with Victron for my personal controller but I won't be pushing that much power.

Roof mounted vs freestanding solar panels? Looking for recommendations

I would prefer a portable panel but it will eventually get stolen the way I want to use it. I will hard mount one on the roof so it will be more difficult to steal.

RedArc vs Victron... REAL WORLD USE pros and cons?

Some of the RedArc controllers have a max input voltage of 30v. We use Overland Solar panels that can produce 35+ volts. It freaks RedArc systems out.
