Finished up the brake setup this weekend. Cable brake works great... Need to pick up some RV Jacks and weld the jack receivers on. After that the frame should be ready to go to the Powder Coater. . .

I laid out the brake cable to get an idea of how I am going to run it. Anyone else relo their parking brake and cable or go with something completely different that works better/easier? Pics? Just looking for ideas.. . .

Set up the manual trailer brake handle today, now to figure out where I want to run the cable... Done for this weekend... . .

Weekend progress totaled up to be shock placement and expanded metal on front deck... . .

Modified the U-bolt Plates to a accept the polyurethane bump stops. Also finished up welding and cleaning up the frame. Left to do on the frame is: - Weld frame portion of shock mounts. - Weld expanded metal to deck. After that I think it will be good to go the the powder coater.

Installed the Spring Hanger Brackets... The rear shackles were set at 23 degrees which equates to 1 inch offset from the bottom to the top hole of the shackle. Some more welding and grinding/cleanup left to do.. . . .

Worked on the front part of the frame today. I have most of it tacked into place. . .

I have a plan for my bump stops but out of curiosity does anyone out there have pics of a m416 with 3,500# axles with a spring over that shows how they/you did your bump stop setup? Googled it, but only saw setups where the spring was under the axle.

Another step... Burned in the shock mounts and made the spring hangers today.. . .

Nice setup. What brand of batwing is that and how do you like it? Did you consider any other batwing options/brands?

I put the opening toward the driver side in case someone tries to break into it while I am at a stop light. This way I have a clear center mass shot versus trying to shoot over the trailer and that jacking up my field of fire. If I knew I was going to have a passenger with me each time then...

After trying to save and improve the original frame I finally gave up. Time for a do-over. Starting off with 2x3 3/16 wall tube. Ditching the Pintle Hitch setup up and going with the Max Coupler. Played with my dimple-die set on the gussets, worked out okay. Had some time this week to make a...

A few more baby steps today. Cut and welded up the expanded metal to set the tongue box and propane tank(s) on. Also made a small platform/base to weld the vertical 2in tube for the collapsable rack. Hope to make some more headway this weekend. . .
