    New Carbon Fiber EarthRoamer

EarthCruiser solved the problem by replacing the rear axle for the 4wd conversion on the 2020 gasoline Fuso. No more reversed wheels, same track on front and rear axles.

    Fuso special tools

Another option for a torque multiplier is this one which is a little more flexible than the Cheater Wrench since it does not require an adjacent lug nut to resist the torque. I have a length of aluminum tube to extend the length of the reaction bar to the ground for the large tires on our truck...

    New Carbon Fiber EarthRoamer

I have always wondered with the EarthRoamers typically running near the GVWR of the F-550 chassis if they are prone to mechanical failures which you wouldn’t see normally. Our Kenworth K-370 is a 33,000 lb GVWR chassis and we are no more than 28,000 lb (probably closer to 27,000 lb) so we are...

Thanks but for the money spent I think you came out well ahead in terms of value for money spent... :)

    New Carbon Fiber EarthRoamer

The Kenworth K-370 is an oddball since it is a blend of DAF parts and standard Kenworth parts. Dealers have to use two separate parts databases and many are not familiar with the DAF system. And ours was converted to 4wd so some more non-standard but readily available additional parts in the 4wd...

    New Carbon Fiber EarthRoamer

Looked through your build thread, nice job on upgrading the cabin. Good luck with the sale, I would think it would sell quickly... By the way, getting simple engine parts for US trucks is not always easy, the serpentine belt shredded on our Kenworth K-370 (US version of the DAF LF) inside...

I recall reading somewhere that Daimler might begin exporting the Unimog to the U.S. again. Any truth to that?

    2020 EarthCruiser?

As I recall, Lance mentioned in one of the other videos that the shower water recycling system was something developed at EarthCruiser. I think he mentioned that there was a water pump, filter, UV sanitizer, and an electric heating element in the system. Seems pretty straightforward in terms of...

    2020 EarthCruiser?

Is the same camper cabin used for the single and dual cab versions?

    New Carbon Fiber EarthRoamer

I think the bottom line is simple, there simply isn’t a very big market for a large cab forward truck chassis with 4wd. How many of these do you think would be sold in the US? The Unimog is an oddball with lots of applications besides expedition vehicles which would be a small part of that...

That would be an interesting development if Daimler resumed exporting Unimogs to the US....

    New Carbon Fiber EarthRoamer

EarthCruiser had a video showing the turning radius of the 2020 EarthCruiser was close to that of a Tacoma.

The import laws and emission/safety standards surely have an effect but in the end sometimes it just doesn’t make financial sense. MAN would require a significant investment to move into North American market with no current dealer or distribution base. Daimler is already here with Freightliner...

GXV Patagonia on the Kenworth K370 chassis

In the end, when GXV looked at the awning it turned out that it was not damaged but it had been ripped from the mounting on the side of the truck. It was reattached and no problems since then.

That looks excellent. If only we could get this MAN truck in the US it would be a serious contender over here...

    New Carbon Fiber EarthRoamer

In December of 2016 we went to GXV to look at a recently completed UXV on a Ford F550 and we probably would have ordered one until we saw the first Kenworth K370 Patagonia build that they had just completed. Once we saw the option of a cab forward on a well supported chassis we never looked...

    New Carbon Fiber EarthRoamer

Considered one but bought a GXV Patagonia on a Kenworth K370 cab forward instead. Cab forward all the way now even when we downsize.
