A very reasonable assessment, I agree that without clear evidence of malice I would also assume incompetence. Not uncommon for a person with great competence in some areas (cooking and camper design in this case) does not mean competence in the finance area...
Pickup chassis clearly have the best service/sales/parts network but the 2020 EarthCruiser uses a Vortec V-8 and an Allison transmission and pretty standard parts for the 4wd conversion so I am not too worried about getting service if I get one at some point. Cab forward for me, great view...
Very familiar with your products and some of the superb DIY builds such as Wabi Sabi Overland. For someone who has the time to build one it is a very good option. For those of us who want to buy something already built it will be good if there are options for getting a build done using your...
More competition would be a good start in improving the quality of the high end expedition vehicles in North America. Some competition on the camper boxes from Boxmanufaktur, Bliss Mobil, and others but still stymied somewhat by the lack of the availability of new cab forward 4wd vehicle...
I find it interesting that on one hand there are plenty of people who comment on the high price of an EarthRoamer and on the other hand EarthRoamer seems to have a backlog and a devoted group of owners. While an EarthRoamer might not make sense for many there are enough who think it does make...
There are a couple of used Pangaeas for sale at GXV if you want one, one on a Unimog and the other on an International...

We are getting a little off track since this thread is a discussion of the 2020 EarthCruiser but I will say that a less expensive 4wd conversion for the gasoline Fuso is surely possible since EarthCruiser is using top of the line components, is replacing the rear driveline instead of just...
Agree with the issue of a lack of 4wd cab forward trucks in North America but in the end there is really not a big market for them over here. I would guess that a Fuso gasoline OEM 4wd would not have enough sales to justify the investment and production costs but the upside is that the...
I believe they are using the 160 since it is available in both standard and crew cab. I don’t think there is an advantage with the higher GVWR 180 standard cab since the whole suspension and braking system is being replaced anyway but I could be off base on that.
If you want to add more features and stay under the GVWR of the chassis then something has to be removed or made lighter. Cost doesn’t seem to be a prime factor for those buying EarthRoamers so the cost to switch to carbon may not really be much of a factor.
RRE Global has the MAN 6x6 that has been touring the US for sale for $320,000. 2004 Chassis so can’t be imported to the US but it could be imported to Canada or Mexico. There is a detailed description on their Instagram page.

The alternate option is a lifting roof model split in the middle of the box to keep the solid walls. Adds to the living area in a different way than a slide out.
See the GXV Pangea models and several from European builders for examples...
Not sure how you would ever get enough solar on the small roofs of these vehicles to provide enough battery charging for an all electric vehicle? I expect you would need to supplement the solar with plugging into a charge station of some sort which would not be available away from populated...
The gasoline vs diesel trade off is something that keeps coming up when people are looking at smaller vehicles.
Our Kenworth K370 has a Paccar PX7 diesel (Cummins 6.7) and it has been running fine for 2+ years/50,000 miles and I expect it will continue to do so. We also have a 2008 Sprinter...
