Sad End to This Cautionary Tale, As Folks Start to Head Back Out Into the Wilds, Pls Be Careful

I'm still trying to figure what drew them to Mormon Point There are two nearby trail heads but that’s it. I’d love to see what map they were working with.

Sad End to This Cautionary Tale, As Folks Start to Head Back Out Into the Wilds, Pls Be Careful

As I recall, Inyo County Sheriff’s Department does not have an aviation unit. The park areas have typically relied on U.S. Navy aviation support from either NAS Lemoore or China Lake depending on availability. On steep side mountain rescues using a helicopter usually means inserting a team...

Sad End to This Cautionary Tale, As Folks Start to Head Back Out Into the Wilds, Pls Be Careful

There’s a topo map on the last page showing the topography two miles from their destination. From the West it’s an easy slot canyon hike, from the East it’s a technical climb then a descent into the canyon requiring ropes...

Sad End to This Cautionary Tale, As Folks Start to Head Back Out Into the Wilds, Pls Be Careful

Another “cautionary tail” for the “I can go anywhere you can on my P-Metric tires” crowd.

Building a Plywood Deck Plate in the Back of your JKU

Thank you! If you look in the back of your Jeep, you’ll see that the sides are straight if you come up a little in floor height. I made one small template to cover the transition from the wheel well side to the plastic trim panel and another for the front half section wheel well curve. i...

Tire Deflators - What Do You Use and Why?

I use an ARB deflator. I tried the Stauns, then gave them away. I can air down tires significantly faster with the ARB deflator, and more accurately.

Building a Plywood Deck Plate in the Back of your JKU

No, not Bomar. they’re DPI Marine Flush Series which means they’re raised up about 1/4” instead of 3/4-1” like the others. I was planning on using four floor hatches that I had from our Ram pickups but the openings weren’t big enough.

Building a Plywood Deck Plate in the Back of your JKU

Well guys, inspired by your ideas and some others I cribbed a bit here and there and came up with this. Since I suck at making recessed doors I bought three marine hatches. All of my recovery Gear will be below the floor, out of the way and out of sight. I retained access to the factory...

M100 - What to do with it?

Can you weld? Do you have a welder? Because that’s still a huge welding job. If the frame is okay and your looking to restore it I’d order a replacement tub. I hope you got a title if one is required in your state and a clear bill of sale.

    255/75/17 vs 285/70/17 KO2s on 5th Gen 4R w/ 2" OME

I’d hardly call the 255/75R17 a “pizza cutter”, it’s the been the standard size Jeep JK tire for eleven years and it’s barely taller than the popular for Yodas, 265/70R17. As for Es, I’m with you. having had them on my Jeep for what seems like forever they don’t negatively affect the ride...

Keep 2010 Ram 2500 or buy Jeep Gladiator?

When the Gladiator came out I was ready to run down and trade the JKU until I actually saw it and found myself disappointed. It wasn’t as like the AEV pickup as I wanted. It seemed too long to me, the proportions were off and what I wanted was more of a regular cab or small extended cab. In...
