Yeah, it was an interesting install. I have the “stock fogs” bumper, but didn’t have the mounting bracket anymore, so ordered a replacement fogs kit from Amazon (including wiring, brackets, aux switch, and lights for around $40) vs the fogs and brackets as a kit from Nissan (insert $$$$...
Location: Anchorage, AK
Price: $4000 for all of it
Looking for a nearly “turn-key” set up to get out and use your truck for camping/overlanding?? This set-up has served us very well in the last few years but we are making a change, so our experimenting/project could be yours for the adventure...
This winter plumage rock ptarmigan got chased by something (didn’t get a good look at it, maybe a raven?) under my aircraft yesterday. Saw a flutter and heard a “thump” under the belly. Just hung out there until it was time for me to light the fire again.
Real world example here… our 18 PW fully loaded up to return home to AK after a year of living in the lower48. Kept heavy items centered and low as I could, but was still full up in backseat and bed/canopy. Got curious after filling up at a truck stop in Canada and ran across the scales.
Drove...
The only time I EVER get a consistent 13-15mpg in our PW is staying around the 55-65mph mark. We drove to Homer from Anchorage and back (230ish mi each way) last weekend with little wind and the couple passes you go through and I think it showed around 13.5 for each direction (uncorrected on...
I used to drive a different ram 2500 ctd for work all over the CO Rockies. There were only a handful of roads/trails I wouldn’t take it on, again with no suspension mods and 35s. But nearly everything on the Alpine Loop (minus Black Bear) was no issue.
I haven’t done the Alpine in our PW, but...
This. 98% at least…. If it was me, I’d be keeping the hemi mainly because I want the winch (I do use mine) without an aftermarket bumper. But definitely had my eye here.
We love our 18 PW for family camping/exploring. With my wife, our car-seated daughter, and the 40% back seat replaced with a...
This poor thing.
Neglected so often. But… a few things have occurred in the last year. Pulled out all the carpet. All of it. Slowly getting ready to lizard skin the interior, up to about a foot off the floor. Cleaning up old wiring and just some general “don’t need this” trimming and removal...
Nice shot and glad you got to join the “club”! I think the current stats are somewhere around 30% of visitors looking for Denali see it at all, and single digits see it from base of the hills to the summit. We had (and are currently in) weeks of “not a chance” territory, at least not from the...
Other than the power wagon limited payload, none really.
35s, the off-road toys that came with it stock, 2 decades of off-road experience and a healthy disregard for clean scratch-free paint means I get my PW mostly where I want to take it.
