Some of the newer steel wheels are not much heavier than a proper forged Alum. wheel. for normal road travel I doubt alum would be a prob though. For rockcrawling we use steel. some of the guys in our club have alum and I have seen cracked and broken rims. steel ones bend but a hammer...
my dad has a few off hiway logging trucks and they all have a large (because they have the room) basket on the manifold. Two sections one for cooking and one for heating. when you are miles from nowhere in the snow and cold a hot lunch is a big deal. We have put a can of beans or chili in the...
if they are anything like the 6BT you can turn the pump a bit and add more boost and you will actually GAIN mileage! I did my '90 dodge and was surprised to go from 27 MPG to close to 30!
what did your 4BT come out of?
setting up the dodge would be the ultimate!
I'm sure you have seen them but check out http://koreperformance.com/welcome.htm

I went and test drove a new Xterra wit the new engine and was really impressed. Its still too much cash for me though!

Also check out the frontier 4 door you can get the nismo package and wouldn't need to modify it at all.
I like the landcruisers though gas mileage sucks!
Look at this one! Already set up...
Well if you plan to stay on normal gravel and pavement roads I would not even lift it. Get slightly taller/ more aggressive tires and be done.
I would put some running boards on it or sliders that actually protect the rockers. If you don't they will be bare metal by the time you get back.
A bra...
haha on the ride not getting worse! :hehe: I was thinking the same thing but the calmini is HARSH! I use dto be able to take speed bumps at a normal speed but now I am down to a crawl to get over them!
If I was going to do a newer suzuki it would be an XL7 with the extra length.
Have you...
wow a suzuki thread! I have a 4 door sidekick that I use for trips in the PNW. I have a friend with a GV with the calmini lift and it is perfect size.
In a small vehicle like this 2.5" is not that much. Although we both have problems with the Calmini being too stiff on gravel roads. I would...
