they also only offer it in the fully loaded version. I suspect no std. due to the massive amount of torque making a std hard to find for it that is not fullsize truck size.
Up here a liberty CRD is 38,000 while a base liberty v6 is under 30 grand that buys alot of gas for that price difference...
Like was said I lwent and looked at them and only the fully loaded units have the 2 speed tcase. Not sure what their thinking was on this?
I was interested until they said it was the same structure as a chevy equinox. Forget it. I will buy a Kia before I buy a Chev designed product. At least my...
I have a "wheelin box" that goes in the back of the kick for outings. I use two older lap seat belts that are bolted to the floor to hold it in place. the belts are black so they blend in and two quick buckles and the box can be opened or come out.
I use ratchet straps on the roof box to hold...
ditch the zip locks and use palstic containers. They are sealed and keep things fresher longer. Also use block ice. Drain the water each morning as it aids the melting process.
A friend of mine built a rack that sits above his ice blocks and keeps his food seperate. Also keep the cooler in the...
good job!!! I have one question though. I know its a life experience etc. but all they got a was a trophy? I would of expected the winner to get something more than that.
I'm on the 2 year waiting plan as well. Hopefully a Diesel arrives before then. If not I'm getting a JDM import cruiser. I would rather buy something left hand drive though!
Diesel for me all the way! I really like the rig though 4 doors and a removeable top! :sport_box
there was an article in aus4wd about a company that makes a lift kit for the forrester and legacy. They also made bumpers very cool rigs and perfect for a family camping rig! I can look back tonight and see if I can find the issue?
I was wondering what was going on. They left it too late. They should have gone lat feb early mar. then they may have made it. It has also been a really mild winter up there. I know someone that drives truck on the ice roads to the diamond mines and he said they have curtailed load limits and...
we had an older vw van westy (bright orange I might add! ) I was always amazed at where it would go with only 2wd. All the motor weight is over the rear axle and they are fairly light on the front too. I camped for a week at this remote lake in the interior and we had guys coming in on quads...
I highly recommend them! You can do a 1.6L swap from a sidekick quite easily. And if you do a spring swap and spring over (or even leave it spring under) with Jeep YJ springs it rides really well, nice and soft but stable.
You can go to bigger tires and compensate for them with a tcase gear...
Reading my latest Aus. 4wd monthly there is ads in there for TJM's new pro-locker! Air actuated diff locker! :ylsmoke: It looks to be only for land cruisers for now. but is another nice option over a ARB! :jump:
with shipping getting pretty cheap and the CDN dollar doing good its almost always cheaper to buy stuff from the states. For some reason CDN retailers want ransom prices for stuff I can easily get from the states way cheaper. when you tell them that they get all pissy with you. Just make sure...
I have a lor-rite in the rear of my sidekick. I have had real detroits and ARB's int he past. the loc-rite is the easiest but also the loudest and biggest pain on the pavement. It is by no means smooth! The detroits were smooth I never knew they were in there until I needed them.
I agree with...
I have a basket for bulky things like my chainsaw case, cooler etc. I wouldn't mind trying a case though. Then I could put sleeping bags etc up there. I may get a big water proof duffle to throw all that stuff into.
I guess I should chime in! My selection is an older 4 door suzuki sidekick. It will be getting the 1.6L Turbo diesel swap very soon. I am currently getting 20 mpg with 30" tires and stock gearing and a roof basket. But the power sucks! With the diesel I am hoping for close to 30 mpg (which...
