I would stay in canada if you have all your crap with you. customs can be a ********** with alot of gear with you. going south of the border does save quite a bit of time though. Toronto to thunder bay to winterpeg sucks!
very good suggestion. your trailer will be unusable unless your tires are completely covered and flapped. frozen mud is no fun when trying to set up camp!
I've ridden in a gamma goat and there is no way I would use one for an EX rig. they are hella loud and very slow! 6WD though and ride quite soft due to Independant suspension.
sounds like you have lots of work ahead of you! Make sure you seal the seams on the laminate flooring. the press board construction does not like moisture at all. If water is left on it where it can get into a seam the board will puff up and not go back down when dry. Found this out with our VW...
my buddy works at a honda powersports dealer and he rebuilds these all the time as they have plastice cranks and valves etc!:yikes: They are not as robust as the older Honda gennies that is for sure. He said not to buy one when I enquired and suggested one of the older used ones would be better
I have found the same thing with mine even though they are on a lightweight!
Wait until the get to around 50% the howl will drive you nuts. I like the tires and they do great off road but I will be switching back to BFG for my next set(33x9.50 AT's)
My tent trailer has slipper springs with rather large lift blocks under them. I want to get a smoother ride so the cooler and stuff isn't shaken to ******** when I get to camp!
replace with regular leaf springs with shackles and build drop hangers? Any other suggestions? I have some old sidekick...
can you eloborate on your suspension changes? I have a small older coleman with slipper springs as well and want to chang eit to something softer (smoother?)
hey there. I almost bought an hj61 last month but decided it is too big for the wheelin around my area. Great for an expo rig though!
It looks like it has lift springs on top of the SPOA. I would see if you can trade with someone and get some stock springs to put under it. That would get it...
if you have a fullsize spare I leave it new. That way if you wreck a tire that is at 45% you can buy one new and use the spare as a match to have 2 new tires on one axle
I have run suzukis for a long time and they actually have a fairly solid rep. up our way. A 4 door sidekick lifted like mine gets some funny comments though! :smiley_drive:
I thought I would throw one up here so this doesn't turn into an Isuzu only section! :costumed-smiley-007
I purchased the sidekick from a dealer 2 years ago. First thing to go was the stock running boards. It looked like a car! Next came some custom 2x3 rec. tube rockers welded in place of the...
Chris how do you replace the ball in a heim? Also yes a Johnny joint is a cartridge joint but there is other mfg's now other than Currie so Johnny joint doesn't apply.
As for the heims, I have never had a problem with strength only wear and corrosion. The teflon lined ones wear the teflon then...
