For fullsizes I would go with a '94-'97 dodge cummins although the front ends can have some issues.
or a Ford superduty with the 7.3PS leaf spring all around and a great truck.
After seeing my dads new Lowrance boat unit I am looking at this as a future unit.
do you know if you can get Baja Mex. maps for it?
Oh another question... Not that its a huge thing but does it do turn by turn directions?
I agree with the comments above to not spend more $$$ on it. A winch will get you out of some tight spots if you get stuck with only 2wd. The locker makes a world of difference and in most applications is on par with a 4x4 truck without a locker.
Cool little rig! I have the same heater and used it in my small coleman pop up with two guys. what I did was fire it up before bed so its warm to undress then switched it to pilot over night then in the morning I reached out and switched it to high and warmed it up inside. this was slightly...
the 4.8/5.3 gm motors are also some of the best. I bet the H3 will get better mileage with the 5.3 than it did with the 5 cyl. I know a few guys with 1/2 ton chevs with teh 5.3 that get low to mid 20's mpg on the freeway! and my friends LS1 camaro (5.3) gets 25 mpg cruising in 6th on the...
you need to drive both. the 2h autos I have driven are kind of dogs. About the same power as a 3b 5 spd. you can turbo a 3b and be better power than a 2h. the AC thing would not be a big deal for me. you could get all the parts from a US cruiser. some guys on ih8mud have done it.
I would look...
my dad bought one brand new in the last year they were made '81? seems to come to mind. the motor will go forever but not very powerful. you could get a bigger turbo for it and turn up the boost would help ALOT!
the main problem was the international body and components were crap! After only 2...
We have had a timberline 4 for years. the quality of construction is outstanding. never a ripped zipper or broken pole. I would have no problems buying another Eureka tent.
I liked mine until the last little bit. they are under 50% now and VERY loud! they do simply unreal in the snow! I air the 30"ers down to around 10 psi in my sidekick and can blast around on 4' of snow like a sled!
I had an alignment problem that caused the front to cup badly but thats my...
hey your right a couple of those are IFS!!! that totally changes things. I would def. not pay the $$$ for an IFS JDM truck. whats the point when like you mentioned the IFS rigs over here are just as nice and cheaper!!! Hell buy a 4runner and you have the same truck - the diesel of course.
There...
one thing these hilux have going for them Dave is they are solid front axle still! with leaf springs! the surfs(4runners) are IFS but they kept the 4 doors solids as its a work truck.
If I could get one for around 10 grand I would buy one. the inside is around the same as a 4 door tacoma and...
woman in our club has a 4 door hilux. there are other importers besides Outback although they are good people.
The 4 doors are nice because they have a non turbo 3L diesel in them. not the turbo'd 2LTE that is having all the head problems. Hers gets around 30 mpg but is not the most powerful...
I have the exact rack. its made by www.sportrack.com they rebrand them for Coleman, Canadian tire etc.
Its a pretty good rack. It bolts together in two pieces which I thought would be weak but its been pretty good. They make an extension kit for it that lengthens it out.
for $75 its pretty...
I have an axe made by Fiskars that look identical to that. sharp as hell! when it was new I could shave with it! I have beat it up pretty good the last few years and it still looks like new...
a dealer up here had some last year. they look cool although if I was going to get a full trailer there is alot of wasted space in one of them so it wouldn't be my first choice. Big in Europe apparently
