I once tried to do an alignment on a late 90’s f150. I tried to put the sensor thing on the drivers side tire and the thing was flopping around like crazy bad. 3-4” back and forth, it was insane.
It had wide offset wheels, those seem to kill the unit bearings.
I’ve watched a few of his videos. There’s an older one where he installs part of a Tesla battery pack in his fifth wheel camper. Seems like an interesting option, don’t know how practical it is to the average individual.
My wife doesn’t like the state parks vault toilets. After a few years I’ve figured out it stems from an episode of the X files that features some kind of sewer monster. Makes perfect sense.
I got the reman unit delivered today. I took it out of the box to check the slop in it. It doesn’t appear to have any. I took it through its range of motion and it binds a bit in a certain spot. This does not inspire confidence.
Looks promising.

Efficiency: Alde vs Traditional Furnaces and Water Heaters
The majority of truck campers on the market use either a Suburban or Atwood/Dometic furnace with 20,000 to 30,000 BTUs...
Those NuCamps look interesting. I’m not familiar with the glycol radiant heating system but it would be nice to get away from the standard forced air heaters in travel trailers. They are noisy and are the biggest electrical draw when camping in the shoulder seasons.
The amps going from the charger to the battery aren’t anywhere near 200 amps. It’s 30 amps, maximum. That’s why a 40 amp fuse is used.
What is this battery connection point by the seat? Can it support 30 amps?
I’d make sure the converter(on board battery charger) has multi stage charging so it doesn’t cook your batteries when it’s plugged in for storage.
It’s nice to see lithium batteries are offered but I’d probably go with the 6v batteries.
Flooded lead acid, the standard type battery. As opposed to AGM(sealed).
The 6v FLA (golf cart batteries) are a good and economical upgrade for most travel trailers. You can buy 2 for about $180 USD. They are heavy duty.
I have an isolated auxiliary battery mounted under the hood, charged solely off the alternator.
If we’re referring to batteries by what’s charging them does that make my battery an alternator generator? Maybe an engine generator? Maybe it’s a gasoline generator.
The local salvage yard wont tell you how many miles are on the unit. Also they have to order it so its not like there are several on hand that I can compare. There's no easy answer...
I’ve been mulling it over and I think I’m gonna go with this one.
The truck is starting to rust out, I don’t know how long I’m gonna keep it or I’d spend more.
