I don’t know why the 2.7 with payload package can’t have the same payload as the 3.5/5.0 trucks when they have the same rear axles.

You could also do a voltage sensing relay that doesn’t connect your batteries until it sees a voltage of 13v or whatever.

I could almost replace my gasser Chevy 2500 with a 2.7 EB. The EB makes more power for sure and tows almost as much but the payload is lame. Why does a 2.7 truck have less payload the the 5.0 and 3.5 even when equipped with the same rear axle?

I’ve had an engine noise on my Chevy for about a year. This thread inspired me to change the serpentine belt idler and tensioner. The noise went away and the engine is nice and quiet now.

They changed for some reason. On the newer GM's you have to remove the airbox on the passenger side or the second battery(if equipped) on the drivers side. PITA compared to the simple design they had.

The Z71 varies on year and model. On my 2500hd truck it’s a chrome and sticker package.

The bumper on my 2500hd seems to be made out of chrome plated plastic.

I have the same truck your drivetrain came out of. Your lighter truck and 5.13 gears it’s gonna rip. Btw I use the electronic shift transfer case to get up my driveway every day in the winter and it’s always shifted perfectly.

Now you need an old timey truck camper on it.
