    2020 Winnebago Revel 44E

That rear lounge is interesting. Do you have sufficient overhead height that the rear lounge could be used as a 2nd berth? (bunk-bed style?) The thing that always turned us off about Revels was that the we need a bed for a 3rd traveler and the little front fold-out on the 3rd seat at the...

    Air Hose and Inflator

Agreed. Both of my Viair compressors have come with stainless leader hoses ~12" long due to the adiabatic heating of the compressed air. Even with that, about 75% of my air hose failures (from ANY compressor) are at the "hot" end of things.

    California Compliant diesel swaps?

Beware taking the word of one officer as gospel. Often they aren't well versed in the finer points of import laws. I imported a Canadian-market GMC Safari for a project and the US CBP guy at the Vancouver port of entry tried to tell me it couldn't be brought to US "because it has a kilometer...

Tow Bar vehicle recovery is dangerous!

Here's another way to look it it: I'm sorta willing to have any catastrophic failures launch metal at you or your vehicle, but not at me or mine. This is one of the reasons I carry both hard and soft shackles, etc. If you've asked me for help, but between the two of us I can't find a way...

    wheel chocks

In that same vein, my Astro (and most other '90s/2000s GMs) came with a pair of stamped chocks which are very lightweight but offer good grip and resistance. I liked them so much I bought a 2nd pair from Ebay for ~$15, and now keep four in an easily-accessible spot in the rig:

Simple question about my Victron 75/15 charge controller

The biggest caution is that you must disconnect the panels whenever you're going to separate the charger from the batteries, else you risk damaging the charger. I'd be very careful about a setup that would let you separate the batteries in a way that can leave the panels connected by mistake...

FWC for full time living on road?

When it's down to just me + the Mrs., I think a short-ish truck and contractor cap (or perhaps something like the Khaya/ACCC) is going to be high on our list. (Sticking to a poptop van as long as we're a party of 3+, though...)

12V plugs and sockets that are not cigarette lighter style

That's actually easier, as they make plenty of panel-mount options for the SB50 and similar connectors. https://powerwerx.com/anderson-sb50-panel-chassis-mount OR, you can take advantage of the fact that the bigger connectors (SB175, etc.) are so large that they already have mounting...

    WTB: Propex HS2211

Remember that those come from the UK - most of the price increase is due to what's happening on their end. (Domestic pricing on them is up even more than the US market due to the dollar/pound comparison.)

FWC for full time living on road?

A FWC on a Tacoma for full-timing is technically doable, but is going to be hard on the budget. You see lots of Tacomas with FWCs, but none of them are running stock suspension - unless you keep to a stripped shell, you're going to be over the Tacoma's payload. So, it becomes a project with...

Photos of mid-sized vehicles - Post Here

Lot's of cool trucks... What about my Midi-van? Just about the same length and GVWR as a Colorado - that counts, right?

1998 Astro AWD Provan XL with only 60k miles

Not sure what you're saying? All Astro/Safaris were built in the same factory in Baltimore. All were LHD, all got VINs in that series. Passenger and Cargo vans were exported to Japan, (and elsewhere) most were sold in North America. You'll note this particular van has a km/H speedo, so it...

1998 Astro AWD Provan XL with only 60k miles

GM never made a RHD Astro/Safari, yet they are incredibly popular in Japan. We've seen more than one of these drivers-side entry/flipped floorplan Tigers here on ExPo, and AFAIK, every one has been for/from the Japanese market.

1998 Astro AWD Provan XL with only 60k miles

Japanese-market van. It's nice that it's a clean AWD, the swap to 4x4 would be very easy.

    Shorter "Stratchits"?

Maybe! Will look at those. All the same problems as a cam-strap. Running from my tie-downs to the corners of the cargo net, I have maybe 12" - in that length, it's very hard to get a lashing in place that's both tensioned, and secure-enough to prevent heavy objects from being tossed. Plus...

    Shorter "Stratchits"?

Yeah, but like I said, I'm hesitant use something that's purely elastic to secure a cargo net that's holding back heavy items from hitting family in an accident. Those rubber ones will snap if over stretched, and they're not rated to any particular load, (as in they don't tell you at all) so...

Subaru owners: Let's see your expedition rigs!

@BritKLR and @jpat30 this month: Going to keep it stock. Same dudes in 3 months: No judgement here. I'm on my 3rd Subaru. My 2nd was well-modded for soft-road use, way back on Page 1 of this thread.

    Shorter "Stratchits"?

Hey all - I've got a particular load handling situation that could benefit from a better strap. I'm looking for something like the Frontrunner Stratchits, in that I need a real cargo strap (cam lock, etc.) but would benefit from a small amount of stretch to take up the slack when tightened...
