    4WC - Overrated and overpriced

Flippac was a great product made by a company that really didn't want to be in that business... and it showed. ATOverland is kind of showing what might have been, had someone cared.

    4WC - Overrated and overpriced

Yeah, from what I understand, moisture-management is a fact of life in the NW, whether camping or just living in a home that maybe doesn't have the best air-exchange or active-drying. As a desert-kid, it's hard to imagine, but I hear things... ;)

    4WC - Overrated and overpriced

Still waiting to hear what OP thinks are a better value Remembering that this isn't the Campfire section - hoping there will be meaningful discussion instead of just whinging.

    (SOLD) One less Sprinter

That reminds me of the guys in the Le-mons/crap-can racing series who ran BMWs for years. They got to where they had a stencil with a little logo they'd spraypaint "Noch ein(er) Scheiß E30" onto every car they fielded:

Cool van. I like the sentiment!

Ford Transit Cab Chassis with Composite Camper

I agree. I just wish I had warmer feelings about the AWD system. I may still be convinced, but I'm not quite there yet.

Show me your vehicle-mounted or quick-deploy kitchen setups

This isn't my final answer on the subject, but this at least adds a quicker-to-deploy table on the rear of my van for those times when I just want to make a quick meal without busting out the whole kitchen setup. I'm already carrying this table-with-leg since we use it inside the van, so when I...

Crew cab long bed (8ft) for overlanding??? Is this viable or realistic?

Possible but challenging. A truck that long will have many of the problems of a big Earthroamer or similar rig. Partly it depends on where you spend your time. Deserts of the Southwest? Less of a problem. Tight FS roads like Wose mentioned? Small city centers? Problem. The other issue...

Victorian should do whatever feels best, but I hate the idea that folks can troll a person off of a site like this.

    ‘19 Chevy Colorado Z71 4WD Diesel. Camper/Overlander - $42,000 Colorado

Nicely done, other than the sketchy arrangement of the battery (placement/securing/connection). Swap on an Alu-Cab canopy and I could just about get the whole family in there. (It'd be cozy...)

SOLD 2017 ram diesel flatbed fwc hawk. GO ANYWHERE!! SOLD

Mike, I get where you're coming from, and generally I agree that we shouldn't engage in "price policing" on this site. That said, the comment that BlueRidgeBob made regarding price also began with "Could you please share the list you made adding up the parts and labor? That might help address...

Off the shelf subframes and camper body kits!

Very cool. I feel like an F550 is overkill for my needs, but I'm really enthusiastic about companies that are working to amortize some of this NRE work into multi-customer products, instead of there being a whole universe of one-off custom builds out there. :D

Since I'd never plan to remove a camper, I had always figured I would just do the standard "bolt down" method offered by 4WC. Any reasons I should reconsider that plan if I bought one?

    UJOR Build Thread

I like it. I know US highways are long and flat (especially in the west), but I've never thought we needed giant-ass vans geared so that they cruise at 85mph. Much better for me to be geared a bit lower when I hit the hills, especially when I'm right at GVWR...

How does the seat in the hub look? I wonder if this could have happened as it got pressed in?

2020 Overland Explorer Vehicles (OEV) CAMP-X pop-up slide-in pickup camper (renamed "Back Country" as of 2023)

Glad that you've got a conclusive test on what needs fixing, and I'm glad your vendor is going to bat on your behalf, but this is a serious bummer to see issues like this on a new camper.
