I love talking about vehicle selection, but mostly because people rarely, if ever agree, which makes for an interesting debate and we all learn a little more. So given that many overland vehicles are purchased used, I put together my list of the top 10 options. I did not take the list lightly...
Hey all. We are looking for a little help in this section of the forum, and would love to have a long-time member and contributor to the photography section become it's moderator and help with some new projects and editorial we have in process. Not really a paid position, at least initially...
One thing I research and refine more than any other piece of kit is the clothes on my back. Why? You use it every hour of every day and high-quality, well engineered garments can greatly improve comfort and reduce frustration.
So I spent a few minutes compiling my typical adventure clothing...
There is a lot to love about the Power Wagon. A few weeks ago, I took a stock 2011 through Hell's Revenge. Full video coming soon.

My Olympus kit had integrated wireless flash control, but now with the Canon bodies (5D MKII and 60D), I need to beef-up our flash systems.
What is everyone using for remote (off-center) flash? I cannot bring huge flash kits, so my initial concept is the following- ideas?

Overland Journal and Expeditions West is looking for a fun, clean shop truck.
Looking for clean, mostly stock (all stock preferred) 1985 Toyota SR5 4wd with 22RE motor. Long bed preferred. White preferred. A/C preferred.
Price offered will be based on condition.
Finding a perfect compromise is much more difficult with a motorcycle than it is with a 4wd. That is just an unfortunate fact. A Rubicon Wrangler can drive 80mph on the highway, be loaded full of gear for a RTW trip and still cross some of the most technical terrain in the country.
With a...

Well, after two years of hard use and abuse on the Olympus gear, we are shifting back to Canon. There are a few reasons for this, but primary of which is the shocking and disappointing release of the E5. Their flagship camera came to market at 12 mp and with only 720 HDV. That essentially...

The image lacks boundaries with the dune continuing to rise out of the corner of the frame. Namibia has a strong connection with many travelers and this image reflects an undisturbed place.

Thought it would be fun to have a central place people can post videos on ExPo. Vimeo and YouTube work best. Anything vehicle, travel or adventure related is cool. Give feeback and ideas and lets all become a little better at telling a story.
I just wrapped this one up, so it might as well...
Video is such a rich medium, but often lacks the sense of immersion and wonder that a still photograph allows. However, this is quickly changing and cameras like the 5D MKII are providing wonderful tools.
Post up your videos or links to others that inspire!

Just landed in Reykjavík and am getting settled. Its been less than 24 hours and I am already loving the place. I am staying right downtown and hit the oldest cafe in the city for a little breakfast.
Then a trip to Arctic Trucks, where we tested out a Prado on 44s
