    1997 Toyota Land Cruiser

I thought the 40th Anniversary Editions were locked front and rear. Is this the case? This one has decent miles and is not a bad price if it's been taken care of. One owner and all the service records is a bonus. Sure looks like a good deal to me.

    Snakes

It sounded to me like the joke stemmed from an irrational fear of wildlife…so, who's thin skinned? Even though I may chuckle at the joke, I wanted to make sure not to perpetuate the idea that we don't have a responsibility to the local wildlife when we travel. I think there is a...

ENGEL Fridge - solar panel question

This is certainly efficient, but not necessarily the same scenario that a lot of fridge owners will find themselves in. The daytime temps inside the vehicle may end up being hotter than they were in the scenario you describe. A transit bag will help keep the temps inside the vehicle from...

    Klean Kanteens

Wow, that's surprising. I don't blame you for returning it. It must have been an anomoly. I have two and have never had an issue.

Keeping a Yakima Fairing looking new??

Take it off the rack; eventually it will get pitted and rough looking.

    Klean Kanteens

These are nothing like the SIGG bottles. All but the double-walled stainless steel SIGG bottle are aluminum with a food-grade liner. The KK are great, as are the SS SIGG bottles.

    My Aussie Gen4 Pajero

Sweet looking truck. I hope you continue to keep us update on the progress of the build-out. You're right, we yanks don't get those. In fact, it's been a long time since we've had the short wheelbase model. Mitsubishi stopped bringing over the long wheelbase model in 2006. For springs...

    Jerry Cans Laying Flat???

You should be fine with a Scepter or Nato-style can, such as the Wedco branded can. If you can't lay a container on its side, then you don't need that container.

    Knife Sharpening

The only correction I'll make here: this isn't a "side note"; instead, it's the whole point of getting a flexible system. You state it perfectly though. The Edge Pro instructions even recommend double-bevel edges for certain blades and shows you how to do them. Nice summary of critical...

    season carrier

I keep them in 1 or 2 oz Nalgene bottles. Organizer: Eagle Creek Pack-it Quarter Cube Label the bottles with one of these. Now, more important than all of this, is where you buy your spices. Don't underestimate the value of good, fresh spices.

    Pants...

Okay, that's just hilarious. Thanks for the laugh. A questions, though, about which style is preferred: what do you like more about the Alpine Utility Pant vs. their Original Mountain Pant? The construction methods and fabric appear to be the same.

    Lockers vs. TruTrack

Can you tell me what type of rear locker you have that is both a selectable air locker and a limited slip? Mitsu makes an OEM one for my vehicle that does have both of these functions, but alas it was never brought to the states.

From beaches to mountains...getting settled into life with the Landcruiser

Salt in the wounds... Great to see you're having a lot of fun. I'm green with envy as well, but couldn't be happier for you two. Keep sending the reports, though; I'll suffer through the pain ;) Cheers, TD
