I wish I brought my amp clamp so I’d know how many amps where going in so I’d know how long to leave this truck running.
My wild guess is after an hour or so I’m burning more gas than it’s worth.
Is the Victron 712 not measuring what’s actually going into the batteries because I’m jumped straight to the batteries? Am I bypassing the shunt? I must be because when I hook the jump cables up to the batteries my monitor is still saying -~1 amps are leaving the battery, and the state of charge...
I’m about to light this truck and trailer on fire.
It’s not been the summer we expected so this dc-dc charger hasn’t been used really except for a test at home, where I let the half depleted trailer batteries charge at 40 amps for a while, enough for the charge rate to come down to 10 amps or...
When people say electric cooler they’re usually referring to the cheap power hungry units.
Your units are true refrigerator/ freezer and are much better and more efficient.
On our Tacoma work trucks you have to push a million buttons on the touch screen to adjust the dash brightness. ******. It should be a simple dial or knob.
If you want to run that battle born in the back of your truck and recharge it at the rate that that combiner is capable of(looks like 225?) you’re gonna need something crazy like 3/0 according to the Blue Sea Circuit Wizard. http://circuitwizard.bluesea.com/This is assuming 25‘ of wire(you...
I think you could save a lot of money going with a standard lead acid or agm battery and a basic isolator relay like you posted. A fridge and your smoke don’t require a fancy lithium battery I think.
I replaced Moog brand tie rods more than once on one truck but later was told that Moog is now crap.
In case anyone is still interested in modding these:
The Blazers had better brakes and sway bars so if you wanted to hot rod your pickup a trip to the junkyard could get you some good stuff.
An...
I’ve had a few S10’s, pickups and Blazers. They develop oil leaks with the remote oil filter and oil cooler lines, not hard too fix. Also the steering components wear out way too frequently. My biggest gripe with them is they get the same mileage as a full size truck. Cheap to buy though.
My...
IMO a variable load like a tank makes less of an impact mounted close to the axle. If it’s too far towards the front or rear your tongue weight is going to change a lot depending on how much water you’ve got.
I base this on my 30’ travel trailer with 50gallons of water. The tank is just in...
