Thoughts on the Truckhouse Tacoma expedition camper...

Have they published a weight, yet? Been through all the material and haven't seen anything. I think that's the most obvious question in most people's mind.

FWC; Turnbuckle suggestions? Factory buckles are a joke.

What's the eye-to-eye spacing on the FWC bed mounts? I think the Torklift fast guns have an in-bed version that will go as short as 14".

    EarthCruiser GZL 400

Earthcruiser shifted their focus to the CORE line and their newer campers like the Terranova. They've said they may revisit this line once they're no longer in active development on the bigger projects, but we'll have to see.

Does a decent 12V heater exist?

The diesel heaters can recirculate air - in that one can normally plumb the cold air intake (not the combustion intake) into the volume - that's how it's typically done for the truck cabs they were originally designed for. I think a lot of applications, especially the portable versions, just...

Does a decent 12V heater exist?

I interpreted the question to mean a 12v powered heater (i.e. a DC-electric heater). I don't think anyone has created a forced-air DC heater that will do the job. There are a few rooftop HVAC units that include a heating mechanism - with a big enough battery bank and a monster inverter you...

Chevy Colorado Duramax Diesel UTE(flat bed overland)$60,000 CDN

Ontario location and price in the title were both added after I prompted for the missing info. (Look at the post and edit times.) The point of asking everyone to include all the information up front is to mitigate the inevitable back-and-forth, and to have every user be able to see the same...

New Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rooftop Camper Hits the Market

I'd want to test it for fit before committing. Ursa Minor uses a 6-bar hinge (like a VW Westfalia pop-top), so you get extra overhead room at the foot-end. That Alibaba unit just has a simple hinge, so your feet will hit the ceiling if you're as tall as the bed is long.

    Flatbed conversions in North America?

They would be more popular here if they were more... popular. Weird sentence, but hear me out - since flatbeds are mostly an industry thing in NA, they're on the spendy side. I think that hurts their popularity for our purposes. If there were more people using flatbeds, the range of options...

XPCamper and low mileage Dodge Ram 2500

Great setup. Could you please provide a measurement of the full length, nose-to-tail? I suspect I already know the answer, but I'd love to know if this rig would fit our driveway. Thanks!

What's the story on the vans with a hat (Airstream B190 and the likes)?

UJOR has put a halt on converting anything older than 2000-model-year vans, due to how much more work they are to convert. ("Crusty-ness" and "gotchas", as they describe it - but they WILL still sell you a DIY kit for older vans.) The B190s are all older than 2000, so you can no longer just...

    Two Fuso FG's in South Florida: '05 manual $13k and a '14 Duonic $28k

Use caution with that 2nd ad. Those same two trucks (the Fuso and the yellow Hino) are being listed (with the same phone #) as available in Los Angeles. It's possible they're just listing it on both coasts and plan to disclose the real location, but it feels shifty.

    Sportsmobile?

Agreed. Nothing about that says Sportsmobile. The hem on the curtains says "homebuilt", or at least home-improved from some other builder. I'm also not sure Sportsmobile ever did work on T1N versions of the Sprinters...

What's the story on the vans with a hat (Airstream B190 and the likes)?

Fiberine still makes "Supercamper" tops for both the E-series and Transit vans: http://fiberine.com/GVMR/30%22_Super_Camper.html http://fiberine.com/GVMR/Ford_Transit_Vans.html#0 A 30" tall fiberglass top will make the van more top heavy, but "how much" will be a function of...

    F150 - Gas vs Diesel

I know it'll never happen, but I still have dreams of a high-payload Ranger. (Or any other midsize, for that matter.)

    MOVIE: Iceland Vatnajokull Crossing 2019

Just a head's up - since the video is tagged on YouTube as "made for kids", it can't be added to "Watch Later" or playlists. If the video is correctly categorized, then so be it, but you should know it changes how the viewers can interact with it.

    Tool Overkill?

Yeah, it's a trade off. The Safe Jack kit is top notch, and I really like the "Jack stand" option with it. If I had a little more payload to play with, I'd keep it, for sure. The factory scissor jack is lighter, and does a great job of being low enough to get under any flat tire situation...
