Hi Mark
Not much this year. We did just get back from OBX but other than that no. I'm still in the process of fabricating the deck for the RRT. Where did you get the screen flooring for your?
Not sure if you would be interested in these, but Amazon sells another make that is the same as Maxtrax. They are Maxsa Escape Buddy for $148. Considerably less that Maxtrax and are the same. I have the Maxsa and have used them in soft sand. Worked great......
I agree with Coaboy. The deck will always be flat, level, and comfortable. The other advantages to using this type of setup instead of a RTT is obviously the $, but also the usable space within the tent. An RTT basically is a big enough for two adults to sleep in. The tent I'm going with is...
GM13
Nice set up! My plan is to use the same ladder to conserve space inside the tub of my M101. Now I need to locate a few remote camping sites.....
FandL
I'm beginning my build now....
My platform will be 8x11 on top of my M101 rack system. I chose a Giga 7x10 Mountain Adams cabin ten. The tent had high ratings and appears to be able to withstand high winds. I started a thread "Pics of ground tents on top of rack platforms" for any ideas and...
I'm in the process of my build. I have an M101 with a rack system and I decided on on a Giga Mountain Adams 7x10 cabin tent. My plan is to build an 8x11 platform and obviously put the tent on top......
Any input would be greatly appreciated...

This is my current setup for the family. I'm starting a new project for daily kayak hauling for convenience. I'll post upon its completion.
BEACH CRUSH
2012 JKU with AEV 3.5" lift 35s under it
1953 M101 rebuilt to match my JKU
Designed to haul EVERYTHING to the beach. The RTT is next on the list.....
I looking forward to your build!
I extended the tongue to fit a box and to allow the trail gate on JK to fully open. I also replaced the hitch setup with a 2"receiver to accommodate what ever type of hitch setup I chose (I recommend the Max Coupler).
Also, the top of my rack is approximately...
Once you drop the axel, drum brakes, and wheels, you will loss considerable weight. I replaced my original equipment with a lightweight Dexter axel and alloy wheels. Obviously I put wieght back on but my M101 had a dry wieght of 1000 lbs after I was done.
I can't wait to see the pics of the RTT installed. I'm torn on fabricating a platform and using a conventional tent or going for a RTT.
Keep us posted. I started following your thread....
She'll come around the first time you use it!
Thanks for the praise on my build. You need to start a thread on your build. I would love to see the condition of your M101A3. Did you get it at a military action?
Yes. The road ends at the beach in Carolla and we continued 7 miles north on the beach to mile marker 20. It was a great trip! I highly recommend vacationing in the 4x4 area of the OBX.
