I'd vote for a mild lift, skids, some aggressive tires, roof rack, lights, plastidip/ bedliner, etc. See how cheap you can do a bada** Subaru fun car. I'm sure I did mine for well under $1k, not including the tires.
My wife can't figure out why I've been coveting my neighbor's 85 xtra cab, desert tan w/ matching canopy and wheels. I look at this one and feel the same way. Sooooo hot. Probably the reason she stays with me, work in progress.
Two things; 1) I was very nervous when I saw the working wheels and stance in the early photos and 2) I'm so glad there's someone ballsy enough to undertake such a cool job and document it. I think I've said this before. Keep it up. Thanks.
