I don't know if this is pertinent, but one of the things I always notice when I'm in Hawaii or near the ocean is the amount of rust on the vehicles. Do you want to spend the money on a part or rig that is starting to degrade as soon as it's out in your elements? I remember seeing newish tacomas...

On a side note, I'd like to put a RTT on top using the factory gutters and some ladder racks for vans/cargo trailers. I'm in the process of determining if the factory gutters can handle the load. I know most RTT are not very heavy, but I'm unsure what the static/dynamic loads are for this little...

So, yes on the axle rotation? And I assume you mean, the nuts would be facing up?

Mine has a straight axle. I was under the impression that the axle needs to be rotated to get the spring perches to sit underneath the springs.
