2005 Tundra novice build - "The Rez"

Do post your results. I, too, didn't like my temps climbing and was contemplating doing something like it, but haven't yet. I have the trans cooler, but I wasn't sure if the fan would make a difference.

    2002 Sequoia Limited 4WD

MODIFICATION: Adjustable Table GOAL: Level out the table when camped. PURPOSE: As I'm getting ready to head out again, it's got me thinking about all the things I wish I had since my last trip. This one is about my integrated table. When the car is level, the table is level. However, when...

MODIFICATION: Rearview Mirror Camera GOAL: Increase visibility and situational awareness. PURPOSE: I didn't really "need" this mod, but it came up on my Amazon "Today's Deal" and I couldn't resist. The spare tire and cans really do hamper my visibility, not that it was great to begin with on...

    WTB: Awning

Yep. I break my setup down when not in use. Takes 15mins to mount back onto the rack when needed.

    WTB: Awning

I don't have a basis for comparison, but it looks okay, I guess? If the plan is longevity and sturdiness, this might not be the best choice. As I've said, you get what you pay for with this awning. For my use and needs, it's just fine.

    WTB: Awning

Well, you do get what you pay for. This is low end, but provides a decent shade. Used it once with light breeze and it worked out.

    WTB: Awning

The supplied hardware kinda stink, but I knew that going into it. Had to fab up some my own brackets for my application. I do this sort of stuff all the time, so it only took me a couple of hours to measure, make, and install. Here's my mockup/proof of concept. "T" bracket mounting on...

She's a thirsty B, that's for sure. Sequoia in volume but with hybrid mileage? Sounds like a minivan, to me. lol

Lol, I don't wanna run those wires, either. See my dilemma yet? lol

    2002 Sequoia Limited 4WD

Yeah, no. My anal retentive tendencies won't allow me to accept an off-center view. Plus, symmetry is beautiful.

    2002 Sequoia Limited 4WD

I've seen other Sequoia guys do that. Good visibility and FOV. Attached is another user's images I saved for reference. I tested that spot and my big ass spare obstructs my view.

    2002 Sequoia Limited 4WD

Kudos to you on that job. I wired a license plate frame back-up camera on a relative's Sequoia and also went thru hatch boot. Man, that was a real pain. I need to find a better spot that's not obstructed by my swing-outs.

    2002 Sequoia Limited 4WD

MODIFICATION: Awning GOAL: Throw up some shade when there are none available. PURPOSE: I debated getting an awning for, like, ever. I just couldn't justify the cost for one, even the simple ones like the Smittybuilt offering. When a TSOR member posted up the listed awning, I thought it was...

    2002 Sequoia Limited 4WD

Almost forgot, if you're on 35x12.5 on a wheel that has less than 4.5" backspacing, you'll probably need to keep the bumpstop extensions because the tire will hit the inner fender wall. That area is hard to tub because of all the HVAC plumbing in the passenger side area.

    Zam15’s Tacoma Build

Really should think about adding a propane tank holder to my rear swingouts, as well...?

    2002 Sequoia Limited 4WD

The tool roll is the best. I leave the swing out off when not on the road. Makes getting in and out of parking spaces a little easier. ?
