    Snorkel Installation Question

First of all, thanks to Wil and Wen for their help in getting the snorkel for my truck ASAP! Montero/Pajero Snorkel available here. The installation instructions on Safari Snorkel's website indicate that I need to procure a Sikaflex 227 adhesive. Any ideas on where to get this locally...

12V Socket for Fridges: clever ones?

So, is it safe to assume that the outlet for the fridge is still going to be an issue?

Corey's 2007 FJ Cruiser built for expedtion/overland, & daily driver

Nice looking rig. 2 questions: 1) What purpose do the short cables on the drawer system serve? 2) When are we going to see that truck get dirty?

    Dell Inspiron Mini 9

That looks like a nice little computer. Very small and light. I also like the idea of the solid state drive. Now with the hard drive not being an issue, hopefully the rest of it is solid enough to handle the vibrations off road. The only downsides I see: 1) max 16GB hard drive. If you...

    Help weighing my vehicle options

Thanks, Chip. I was actually looking at that one last night. That is a nice looking rig and is close (by TX standards) to me. You don't happen to know whether the 97's need to have the head gasket done (like other 80 series), do you? I do like the lower end torque that the straight six could...

    Help weighing my vehicle options

I think you're absolutely right about the capability of the JK off-road. That was certainly the appeal for me. No upgrade on the engine, but 4:1 transfer case, articulation, etc. certainly would be an upgrade for me. So, off-road, I wasn't concerned about it at all. On-highway though, my...

    Help weighing my vehicle options

Bill, thanks so much for the reply. I forgot that they used the JK to pull the trailers--that's an excellent point. I'll contact Chris. Also, I do have a ton of work already done on this vehicle. If the gears work for me and I can sort out a little more lift (especially the rear...

    Help weighing my vehicle options

I could use a little help with a tough decision. Please forgive the long explanation, but I’m trying to cover the whole picture here. A recent trip involving steep climbs at high altitudes pulling the trailer has had me thinking about what to do next. Do I regear my differentials from 4.3’s to...

    2008 Yukon XL Lifted???

I don't have a Chevy/GM, but I wanted to address the towing in 4WD. My Montero manual actually suggests towing in full-time 4WD to carry the load better (acrross the whole drivetrain) and to keep the diffs cooler by sharing the load.
