May I suggest that this thread would be a better fit in the "For Sale: Expedition Vehicles" section if you were to remove any mention of the sports car and put as much detail into the description of the FZJ80? Better pictures too, as you noted, would probably help you sell it more quickly.
Yes, digital asset management (DAM) is still nebulous for me and my current workflow is simply slow and tedious to the point that I shoot a ton of images, but never get around to editing them, or just don’t want to spend the time it takes with my current setup. So, I’m hoping that Lightroom...
Thanks to all for all the great input. I continue to appreciate the caliber of knowledge and talent here.
I just upgraded my system to Vista 64 last night...wow, that was the fastest and easiest install of windows I've ever done. I got it started during the 1/2 time of the Giants/Cowboys...
This is why I almost can't wait to get a D700. For years my combo was Fuji Velvia 50/ Nikon F5/ and my bag of prime lenses.
I'm just saving my pennies and hoping that a D700X comes out next year with HD Video capabilities to take on what Canon already offers.
I thought that's what you meant, but wasn't sure.
This is supported in versions CS2 and higher. It's called high dynamic range (HDR).
Here's a great article on the subject.
I've used it and it's a very good tool.
I'm sure many of us here can help answer your question(s). Would you care to elaborate on what you mean by stacking photos? Do you mean creating an HDR or HDR type image from several of the same shot at different exposures?
Or, do you mean creating an image similar to a double exposure on...
Terry,
This is a great point. I've always dismissed Capture NX due to the fact that it's always been regarding by many as too slow and not very feature rich. I just checked out the latest and downloaded a trial version from Nikon. I'm curious to see what Nikon specific benefits I can...
Mark, thank you for the input. In fact, thanks to all for the input on Lightroom. It sounds like it's what's missing in my post shoot editing. I can't stand the tedious nature of working with RAW images, and I shoot a lot of them.
So, getting it with the Photoshop upgrade, will either save...
Thanks so far for the great info.
In CS2, the Camera Raw sliders already make it easy to adjust and then export to PS to finish the image, but it's slow in that you have to adjust each image at a time.
I'm hoping that all this talk about a streamlined workflow (could just be marketing...
I'm looking for advice from professionals and semi-pro's here. I currently use CS2 and am looking to upgrade to take advantage of the newer features of Photoshop, most specifically:
1. newer camera RAW support
2. I understand there's better panorama stitching than CS3 and much bettter than CS2...
Seriously?
An extra 400' of winch line as a lower cost alternative? The only type I can think of that would not weigh considerably more or would not be a PITA to carry would be synthetic line. 400' of good synthetic line would cost as much or more.
Which winch line were you referring to?
I would recommend the GPS Exchange Format. Anyone can use a free tool to convert to the format of their choice, Magellan, Garmin, Delorme, etc.
The screenshot idea is good too, just to give others a feel for the route, but the actual route file is more useful.
