    Warning re Jackery product quality/design

Enough! I recommend the moderator removes all of you permanently from Expedition Portal who are trolling and and making childish posts. I'm blown away at all the useless posts someone has to sift through on each thread. It was not like this 15 years ago when I was lurking and enjoying members...

    GPS recommendations for seniors

As some have already mentioned Garmin is a very user friendly platform. And with the addition of BaseCamp downloaded on your iPad or computer, Mapping out adventures are very simple. Much easier than the complicated Gaia format. BaseCamp is no longer upgradable due to the new Garmin Explore. But...

    Warning re Jackery product quality/design

That's what I was wondering? Last I heard in his trip report was he's still waiting. After my initial reaction, I personally believe that John has done a fantastic thing by warning us of what can happen to these units in the real world. It needs to be said that any electronic device needs to be...

    Warning re Jackery product quality/design

That's good info. Time will tell how well my Jackery and cheap fridge last. I'm an older dude and go pretty slow off road in my truck. and I'm packed in such a way as to the cooler and Jackery being having clear paths to the vents and still being secure so not to slide around when driving.

    Warning re Jackery product quality/design

I hear you there. I'm just wading in slowly into this "off grid" luxury travel. This is a big changeup from packing light and motorcycle camping like I have in the past. No doubt the ARB, Dometic, and Engle coolers are some of the best quality out there. I just could not afford to try something...

Anderson Connectors - seem to be having issues?

When it comes to wiring and connectors I do go overboard. I'm so used to the mysterious GM wiring, charging and alternator issues over the years that I decided to solve it myself. Instead of the "big three" I did more like the big 5 or 6!!

    Warning re Jackery product quality/design

Hi there Herbie, If you noticed I stated most not all coolers not lasting more than 5 years in off road conditions. That has been my experience of what I have seen over the years with friends 12V coolers. You are only going to get a very few group of guys that will brag on any cooler lasting...

WFNH: Working from Not Home... Wyoming, then... ??

John you photography skills are amazing and pictures are breathtaking!! Good on you for thinking outside the box with your family and also doing a little solo fun as well. I will tell you that I have dreamed of a 4 runner for many years. Right now I'm settling on my 2wd truck and pretty happy...

    Warning re Jackery product quality/design

That sounds about right. I honestly would not take the damage to your Jackery as a determination as to the durability of the product. It was an isolated incident that could have damaged even a MIL STD unit. I had to look hard at my budget and what i was using mine for. I came to the conclusion...

Anderson Connectors - seem to be having issues?

My 10awg TEMco is rated USE-2 per UL 854 and RHH/RHW-2 per UL473. The cable housing is .075" and made of XLP (cross linked Polyethylene). In a nutshell you can submerge this cable and the strength of the compressed strands is amazing. It's also extremely resistant to high vibration environments...

Anderson Connectors - seem to be having issues?

So far my small connectors are holding up pretty well to the three trips on really rough two track. I'm wondering how long the contacts are going to last with all the vibration. I was looking for an alternative solution to my 30 amp standard 12 volt cig socket. Thanks for bringing this up...

    Warning re Jackery product quality/design

I forgot to mention I'm sorry and sad that happened. I remember hearing about that in our local news. I had no idea it was caused by lithium batteries overheating. I'm pretty confident as long as it's not overheated while you still are carrying it around, you should be ok to carefully tear it...

Come on guys what is up with the trolling? How about you post something helpful and worthwhile. I really feel bad for the moderators that have to put up with the childish posts on this forum. I'm pretty confident that Scott Brady and his friends did not expect this forum to allow this...

    Warning re Jackery product quality/design

I have found when working with electrical (automotive in particular), That almost all odd unexplainable electrical issues are caused by a bad ground. It is the very first thing I check. Not bad at all!! At least you are making the best of it!! Gosh I don't know what to tell you. I would take...

    "Solar Generator"

Adding to your comment Dave is the fact that I see no deception on the part of these solar generator manufacturers. In the case of Bluetti and Jackery they are very upfront as to the power output of their generators and also line out what they can run and for how long. These solar generators are...

    "Solar Generator"

That's fair enough. In my former world of work and travel I had to work with engineers who used a lot of different words and sentences to describe the same thing. It truly never bothered me as long as the end result functioned properly. This has been going on since before we were born. In my...

    Warning re Jackery product quality/design

Membership length or post count has zero bearing on anything other than showing your negative credibility toward other members. And using clever acronyms to cuss someone out is a major violation of forum rules and etiquette. It's not in the intended nature of this forum. If you have been a...

    Warning re Jackery product quality/design

That is so uncalled for. Since when does join date have anything to do with someones knowledge? And how about you please refrain from rubbing in an already sore spot for Mr. Moore? I'm glad he came on this forum and reminded us how delicate these devices are. He also did a good duty by being...

    "Solar Generator"

Dave, Where do you see Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics as a curse to using proper terminology? Every single person who reads this thread understands the meaning of Solar Generators. It honestly is not that big of a deal. Engineers and humans the world over use different words...
