Whew! I just read the whole thread.
Impressive, and certainly inspiring. Although I haven't ridden much since the last outing we had out by your house. It's all been mostly just boring gym bikes that don't do anything exciting.
I hope to check it out at the DR...
Oh and it's been so warm...
That is some awesome work! I may be calling you in a day or so...
I think you should set up a temporary shop at Overland Expo and convert a lucky members van!
Chris, did you sell the factory wheels? I imagine shipping to CA would probably be cost prohibitive. Also do you know the weight rating (going on an EB Sportsmobile)?
Mike, great job so far!
I am looking into custom rear bumpers, but still deciding on price and design. That being said, the Tire Gate looks like a good temporary solution. How has it held up so far? Any issues, rattles, etc?
Also do you have a link or contact for the LED backup lights...
A 1995 Tiger Provan XL will be coming up for sale in about two weeks. One member has first shot, if they pass it up, it will be for sale...
1995 Tiger Provan XL AWD
Approx. 117k miles
$15,000
PM me for more details
:drool::drool::drool:
I am pretty sure I have been drooling over this Van for a while now... Odd question, but have you had work done at BRU Auto in San Diego? We have been getting my wife's VW worked on there for a while now, and I have drooled over one almost, if not, exactly like yours. If...
There is always the option of finding someone local drive it for you...
Or have someone local hold onto it for a while. I have street parking if you wanted, I would have to negotiate driveway space with the Boss...
OH... Congrats and details on the van!
Terry
We can figure something out re the rims... Turns out though I only have four, my spare is a doughnut! Ha, ha, ha! And my new tires/rims won't be in until later next week...
We should all get together have have some skid plates built at the same time to save money.
Terry would the Procomp 9000's you are using be enough to support the weight of a Tiger XL? And any reason why you chose those over say a Bilstein or other brand shock?
Thanks
Care to share details how you would piecemeal the lift?
I found another site that sells replacement steel springs, but just stock height. RocKrawler had a good suggestion for using Dorman Torsion bars.
And I guess Loopie's body lift pucks, but is that just for tire clearances? I am only...
Any update on paint... bumpers... sliders?
Also, I will have four (maybe five, I haven't looked at my spare yet) of the 15" stock rims from a 1995, not your version with crappy throw away tires available either this week or next.
Any idea if you can fit the shorter Torsion bars on a 1995...
Thanks!
I need to check their website and see what I, um... my friend... would need to lift his 1995 Tiger xl. And go check out overland vans site right now.
Also does the kit include a bigger/thicker torsion bar or it is just the key?
