Dear Abby, My wife keeps sending me Craigslist ads for Range Rover Classics.

Some of you may have forgotten the issue I was faced with last month. Buy my girlfriend's 1998 4Runner with 120k miles for $4k so in exchange she could buy herself an 08 Range... -Sam

    Give me the scoop guys...

Perhaps I should be more blatant and add [sarcasm] every time I post about cupholders. As for the d1 vs d2 argument, if I didn't have a 4runner project coming up in the next few months, I'd have my eyes on an RRC. Not to clutter the thread but if someone was in the market for a d1, I would...

    CB Radio Coax Cables

I think a lot of it has to do with antenna more than with coax cable. Getting a good ground, etc. If you really want a decent SWR, stay away from Firestik. Im sure there are several users with respectable SWR using firestik antennas, but on the whole I think the Wilson, etc, guys get better...

Discos are pretty top heavy as well. As for D1 vs D2, all the D1 guys are trying to install D2 cupholders, even down to the cupholders, D2s are better ;) -Sam

Read post 20. Drop me a PM in a week or so and we can arrange for you to have a look at my disco. You are about an hour or so from me. That should give you fair insight as to how a modded disco drives, etc. For reference it's an 03 with 04 engine and transfer case. The best of both worlds. -Sam

    Viper Elite Recovery Winch?

Scott, For that price I would stick with a better known manufacturer. It says that the winch has 85 ft of cable. Since you have to keep a couple of wraps on the drum, you are down to 80ft, depending on where you wheel, that may not be adequate. You could find a smittybilt, superwinch or used...

To help us help you, will you tell us exactly what all is needed from the disco. So far: 1) No trails 2) No offroading 3) Daily driver 4) ANother pickup truck already being used for errands, etc. 5) Don't want a small car Besides my rover i also own two other SUVs and two cars. If your...

    Viper Elite Recovery Winch?

Your truck weighs around 7250-7500 bone stock. Depending on where you wheel and what mods you plan on getting, I wouldn't even consider getting anything less than a 12k winch. Those of us with 5500-6500lb trucks get 8.5k-9k winches and generally a pulley block just in case we get really stuck...

    Give me the scoop guys...

If you have a dedicated offroader, why would you want a gas heavy, AWD daily driver? Wouldnt it be smarter to find something fuel efficient especially if you wont be doing what the disco was intended for - wheeling. Pretty much all of the reasons to get a disco fall away if you are exclusively...

First things first, where in NC are you located? If you are close to Wilmington, Raleigh, Greensboro or Charlotte we can get you in touch with local disco owners so you can have a look and determine which year is best for you. Agree with the above comments on the 04 being the one in demand...
