Not sure. I had it installed when the lift and struts were done. My mechanic didn't mention any problems. The directions are pretty straight forward, but I could see the rear of it being difficult, hence let the professional do it.
I have not had any head gasket issues(knock on wood). Oil leaks have been a few, I think one was at the rear main seal(?) that got fixed with a pressure plate(?) when I replaced the clutch about 3500 miles ago. There is also a very small leak at the passenger side. We think it is the valve cover...
I wanted the 2.2 w/ the 5 speed for better durability, i.e head gaskets. Sadly mileage is not very good, like 80's Toyota 4x4 good. This particular rig was in immaculate condition though.
