Is the Ranger the Hilux we've been wanting?

I drive a late model Tacoma at work, we use them to patrol a largish compound. I’ve done more off roading in that thing than I’d want my boss to know about. I’ve got about 2+ years sitting in those things/ 40 hours a week. I don’t dislike them, it’s definitely a car engine not a truck engine...

    New trucks and 4low...

One more reason to get a HD. Really though the only time I've ever used low range was towing heavy up a slow steep hill, or towing heavy over slow rough terrain. I've known 50 plus year old life long "truck guys" who don't know what it's for.

    Towing With Hardside Truck Camper

I think rear axle weight rating is the number to worry about.

2000 Suburban K1500 budget low lift with 37"s

The parking brake on my 2500 only sometimes releases. One of the springs responsible for pulling the shoes back in broke and I haven’t gotten around to fixing it, you have to pull the axle and take off the hub with the full floater I think. Not looking forward to it.

My new camper and truck ready for gnarly dirt roads

The dude living at my local Walmart made it through the winter in a 70’s camper, we had -33f !

    Colorado / Canyon bent frame

Maybe since truck manufacturers are leaning toward off road specific models they also need to list capacities for both on road and off road. IIRC U.S. military lists their specs for off road, payload and tow capacity.

My new camper and truck ready for gnarly dirt roads

Reminds me of my father in law. 17k lb horse trailer with a 2004 3/4ton. 4K over rated tow capacity.

Lets see some full size pictures...

I had a lowered mini truck for a long time. I would get phone calls from my friends who had lifted trucks who wanted to borrow mine to move stuff. It’s a lot easier to load a lawn tractor into a truck when it’s two feet closer to the ground. Four wheelers didn’t even need ramps, just drive right in!

    2004 8.1 Yukon

Well I’ll be damned, it looks like you’re right. As for oil I’ve always used synthetic, -33f is hard on stuff. I always use wix filters too. My 6.0 uses a little oil but nothing crazy.

I don’t know why gm can’t make a proper headlight harness. I’ve changed the sockets on my moms trailblazer three times, they keep burning up. I think I eventually found some ceramic units.

Those are pre 2011 16”. I know I mentioned it before but it’s worth repeating, 2011+ eight lug trucks are 17” minimum and are a metric lug pattern. Your pre 2011 uses the old pattern and is the same pattern as eight lug dodge, and I think pre super duty ford.

Ski Bum Truck V2.0, F450 Rough Road RV

I’ve seen people place black corrugated “drainage” pipe over their rolled up awnings after making a cut down the length so it’ll open up. I think that was just to keep the sun off it. Maybe there’s a way to do it with caps on the ends.
