They were actually 15s, American Racing Rims, i believe. IIRC the same rims are available locally or at jcwhitney/jegs for 75$ or so each. Generic bolt pattern, you jsut need to open up the holes a bit. -Sam

Us LR guys generally run either OMEs or Bilstein 7100s. Lots of satisfied users running OMEs. Much better than Big Blues or Ranchos, etc. -Sam

There was a specially dug v-ditch filled with mud at an adjoining mud pit that some of the guys ran. That ditch was very deep, i think only one truck made it through - Justin's D2. -Sam

Scan the classifieds for a scangauge. I picked up mine for $100 shipped. I also have a small water temperature gauge installed underhood. I have an extra one with hoses, fittings and all if you are interested. Might give you a bit more piece of mind. -Sam

Saw one in person yesterday coming back from an LR rally. They are pretty wide and aggressive looking. The owner looked down at me for having dirty truck, apparently he preferred to pay $1000 for his mud decal package. My only beef is the cheesy interior. -Sam

I've seen a D2 on 315/75, looked killer, almost wanted to do it to mine. I spoke to the guy and he has absolutely no articulation what so ever, he said just the smallest hint of articulation and his fenders would be crumpled. 2" lift... -Sam

Dale, I was gonna do either a tt or an arb in rear. When I priced out the diff, gears, setting up of third and then axles it looke like buying a used v6 toy with elocker and 4.10s all set up at the factory seemed like the cheaper option. If only the toy axles could be had easily/cheaply. Met...

How can the LR units be made stronger than the toy? Isn't the design inherently weaker? -Sam

I'm pissed I don't have the toy axles, I would have preferred to just do the whole yota swap now. Fortunately I got a stock 3rd and axles delivered to me for $130. At my door in 2.5 hrs. Gotta love having some great parts guys close to you. Dropping in the diff and hopefully be on the road...

4.6l d2 uses the ss395hf part number. Look at the link it's listed for the v8

On 33s with 120k. What axle did you bolt in? I wanted to install the toy diff I have in the garage but don't have the toy axles yet. Any trickery in removing the axles? I can keep them attached to the hubs and pull right? -Sam

All was going well till yesterday, noticed a lot of clunking when i lifted off the gas and was coasting. Today it got worse and was hearing a ton of gear whine. I was driving to pick up some parts for the truck from my local indy shop, lifted off the gas, got some clunking and some grinding...
