Other fast deploy ground tents besides Oztent and Gazelle?

Decathlon Sports has upgraded their 2 second tent. I recently used it on a camping trip in the New Mexico mountains and I also own a gazelle to compare it to. First off, it's only a two-person tent, but because of that, it has a much smaller footprint and an even smaller packed up and carry...

    Chevy Colorado Z71 vs ZR2

With either version Z71 or ZR2, you will need to cut fenders to fit 34" tires, you can get away with a skinny 34" tire (see ) Dave is the president of AEV and there is minor trimming to get the skinny 34" tires to work, basically the same that folks have been doing for 33" tires. The ZR2 with or...

Looking for a comparison of 270 awnings

I have an assortment of 270 awnings ranging from 400 bucks to about 1500, the only one that is completely self-supporting that I have owned is the Alu-Cab Shadow Awn and it's also the most expensive (1500.00) and the heaviest. The others that I have starting from cheapest to more expensive are...

Fridge Slide Install on top of Decked Drawer System

It can be done, but because of the weight the slide will be holding, you want to make sure you mount it into the metal frame underneath the top of the decked system. On my Colorado, the decked system only has plastic on the overhangs around the "ammo" boxes. Depending on how your slide is...

Any Alu-Cab Gen III RTT owners get the side cover

I have it also, although it's installed, I haven't used as I share the tent with a friend who installed it, I can assure that it does roll up and does not impeded opening/closing the tent, as when I last used the tent it was up there all the time.

    Blundstone Boots

I have a pair for about 2 years now that I got the LLBean, with their return policy I figured I could return them if they didn't hold up to the abuse. While they look like crap, they have held up awesome as they are used for everything from taking the dog for a hike, mowing the lawn and camping...

Introducing the “NEW” Alu-Cab Canopy Camper

I would also suggest checking and occasionally re-tightening the bolts that hold the legs to the table. I've had them come loose before.

    RustOleum Spray Bedliner Experiences?

I have not had good results with it. I painted my "slider steps" with it and after a month and a half, it's already rubbing away where I "step" on them. I chemically etched the steel, primed it and then did 4 coats of the "bedliner" paint.

Camping Totes or Dry Food Storage

Now that I have fridges, I use my Yeti Tundra coolers for dry food, It really keeps dry food longer, being airtight and the humidity not getting into the food. Obviously an expensive route if you don't have them no longer used and hanging around.

Why NOT use the stock spare tire location on a pickup truck?

I really think it all depends on how far it hangs down. Here's a pic with the stock full size spare on stock rims, 31", although I'm running 33" tires on different rims. Look how much clearance I have without it: This is probably a better ideal:

    Clam Outdoors pop up Gazebo

I have one and I love it. Some things to note, there are walls that you can purchase for them and they are pretty nice for privacy or protection from the wind/rain, they have windows in them, so you don't have to remove the walls if you need some ventilation. There is also a rain fly for it that...

New luxury Roof Top Camper soon on the market.

I think it's a great design and the weight does worry me, I get the 25K price, but fail to see the value at that price, and at that price, they are going to sell less than 25 a year. I own a alu-cab and with the shadow awn attached it is not easy to move from one vehicle to another with 3...

Vents for a fridge in a trailer?

If the area your fridge will be in is well vented, you will use a lot less energy running it, besides overheating which you already stated, the fridge will just plainly have to work harder. Schutt, who makes the Xventure trailers learned this the hard way and did a redesign making vents and...
