    Is my Jeep too heavy?

I just typed out a huge list of ways I reduce weight in my vehicle, but I deleted it all and will leave it at this. If you know you are way overloaded and are interested in taking steps to mitigate it, you are ahead of the majority of people camping since the dawn of camping.

Upgrading to clutch fan, brand recommendations?

Back to this topic as spring is coming and I shall be ordering parts soon. I am going to order a thermal clutch and a kit to make a fan shroud. (Have to make my own shroud due to mounting weird sized radiator in truck) Does anyone think it's a good idea to add a 7 blade fan while I'm at it? Do...

    CJ5 Resto-Mod Project

Looking very nice. People just go wild for stock restored jeeps in my opinion. I think there are so many modded ones around with goofy wheels and rickety lifts that people see a stock one and gravitate to it. Plus people aren't affraid to talk to a person with a restored car.

New Jeep Pick Up to be unveiled...The Gladiator

I think the platform would work pretty decently with a camper. Heck look at all the Land Rover setups with four doors, short bed, and a tent. Have your jeep and camp it too. I'll be looking forward to what campers come along in the coming years. Also, not to be really snarky here but the...

New Jeep Pick Up to be unveiled...The Gladiator

Has anyone that makes campers had access to these trucks yet? Curious if any sort of mini campers will be coming about. I have been daydreaming about a Scrambler with a popup lately. Maybe I should hold out a while and have a brand new iteration :)

    Improving 4.0l MPG

It may seem silly but I have picked up a pretty steady 1/2 mpg after I added some driving lights in front of the grill. It probably does a similar thing to blocking the grill directly, which is a way to increase mpg in of itself. It's not much but it adds up over time. Just a bonus if you are...

New Jeep Pick Up to be unveiled...The Gladiator

    Random RIG Shots

Just snapped a couple of pictures at an old abandoned mining area here in town and edited on my phone to sharpen things up. Pretty fun how you can do that on a phone these days!

    Watches - ExPo Style

A real one would be cool, but there are several good looking replicas out there that I think would be nice for $2-300. Hate to break a real one! And I would hate to have it stolen from a show display. People seem to like replicas, I guess there is a whole market for them especially for older...

Thanks! Maybe I should start selling 'vintage' tow ropes to the flatfender and series rover crowd

Upgrading to clutch fan, brand recommendations?

I'm not saying the electric setup is wrong to do or won't move enough air. I just want to go with the clutch fan for simplicity sake, no extra wiring or anything else. Trying to keep this truck very basic so that it just drives when need be without any fuss. If I can get a fan clutch in there...

    SheepnJeep's CJ-3A Thread

Took a few minutes this weekend to learn eyelet weaving in rope from an old U of M book called "Shop work on the farm" Doesn't take long once you get started. Now I have some more stuff to hang off the jeep! It's not adventure ready until you have the Beverly Hillbillies look going on

    SheepnJeep's CJ-3A Thread

Wow, can't believe I haven't updated my own page in over a year! We ended up moving two summers ago, and then again to the U.P. Just recently re-aquired the jeep from my father who had taken it home with him from Montana and had some enjoyment driving and taking it to a few shows. Back in our...

    Watches - ExPo Style

Looks like a lot of Seiko users here... I have been using this watch for 10 years this year and it has been great. Had the capacitor replaced a few years back. Otherwise it has survived everything including wildland firefighting. Killed off several timex watches trying to 'Save' this one over...

What did you do to your Expo Jeep today?

Loaded up my gal's paddleboard and went to the lake! Not much warm weather left to do so

Upgrading to clutch fan, brand recommendations?

Alrighty well I think for my application I am going to stick with a thermal fan and see how it goes. Looks like I can order a "make a shroud" kit for a custom fan shroud, and the clutch for a fan is less than $30. So say about $100 by the time I get all the stuff here. If I could see 1 mpg...

Want to switch to an oversized wool blanket for my pop-up camper. Suggestions?

You can hand wash most wool blankets in wool wash no problem. I have tons of wool blankets and haven't had a problem carefully washing them. Fairbault woolen mills also makes a nice wool blanket. I personally like them in warmer temps as they don't get all clammy feeling in humid conditions...
