    Big Dogs & Roof-top Tents...

The problem isn't getting the dog UP in the tent... It's bringing them DOWN from the tent. Our dog can almost walk the ladder. However, I carry her down. But she's not that heavy, only 65lbs. :ylsmoke:

    Garmin Nuvi 660 ?

I have used the 760(?), which is the 660's bigger brother, at work. We used them on a trip from San Diego up to Oregon, and they worked great. They hold a charge for a couple hours and will shut off if/when plugged in to a cig lighter when you stop. The traffic feature was nice. We also...

The Jolly Green Giant...aka the Recycled Rig

Gosh... Tough decision. I think I agree with Redline on this one. The money spent on a diesel conversion would/could be better spent on a new"er" rig. However, a diesel 80 would definitely be cool. But we need to put aside the cool factor, and focus on functionality. Here's an option: Sell...

    SPOT Handheld Satellite Messenger

LOL!!! I could just picture them planning the entire "rescue." However on a side note, did you send an, o.k. signal. Or how did he know where you were? More questions... The SPOT SAR plan works world-wide? Is your signal sent to an operator who then contacts local authorities? When you...

    1983 FJ45 Troop Carrier Buildup

Wow! DO IT! Andrew, That would be totally cool. Great power, and no carb or CARB issues to deal with. I would say, if you got paid for SAR, I could go get "lost" for a while to help offset the costs.

    San Diego River/Cedar Creek Falls

I second Viter's request, actually, I am going to check my maps first. The only route I am familiar with is the hike in from the Julian side. We hiked in from above, looking down on the falls. Looking up is much cooler! Thanks for sharing. :wings:

    1983 FJ45 Troop Carrier Buildup

Andrew, She is coming along quite nicely. I personally vote for the tan. I have always liked that color, and have toyed with the idea of a tan 80. Also, curious as to why you went with the "light" springs? Are you concerned that once you're loaded up you'll sag too much under the weight?

    Southern California Whitewater

Do you have to run a kayak on both the Sespe and Piru? Or could you use a raft? How about a river board? The pictures made it look kinda tight. Also, this maybe silly, but I am assuming this is a dry-suit type run. Or? I am new to this whole river thing. I have taken some, ummm, classes...

Strapping a Kayak to a RTT?

Dave, I am sure you have taken this into consideration already... But how long is the Kayak? Would mounting it on the trailer interfere with your turning radius, etc.? Also, since you said the tent cannot be shifted over anymore, I would focus on the rack. REI or any kayak place sells...

    RTT's and Rain

I should add, we have always used the rain-fly, and it has worked great. Also, I have not applied any type of sealant to our Eezi Awn. :gunt:

    RTT's and Rain

We have been in the rain a few times with our Eezi Awn. It kept us dry, and for the most part we didn't have any problems. We did let the tent sit in the morning sun for a while before we packed up and left. The issues we had were: 1. Putting Bella up in the tent. Imagine one of us holding...
