    03 Montero Rotella T6 Question

Rotella in my 4d56 diesel - regularly sees cold starts in the minus 20s (Celsius). As for your lifter tick, new lifters won't break the bank and can be changed in an afternoon. That's the only sure way to quiet them - my 6g75 is now as quiet as a mitsu v6 should be... well, right up until you...

    ARB Awning Room Input?

Bringing this thread back up again from the depths. I took the plunge yesterday and ordered the awning and the room, at 2000x2500. My reasons are the same as many here. Had an RTT, and though I loved the concept, in practice it was not that convenient, esp with a 7 foot garage door. I'm hoping...

    Gen 2 Idler arm rebuild/upgrade

Received mine earlier in the week and can't wait to upgrade! I'll take some pics as well. This is a great piece guys. And one of the few weak links in one of the stoutest IFS setups out there... awesome to finally have a fix! Cheers ADD! Phil

Mitsubishi l200 k77 2.8 na Any help or ideas please.

For me I'd be looking at forced induction first. The 4m40 without a turbo? Ouch. Add an intercooler as well, and your truck will wake up from the naturally aspirated sleep it's been in and show you some good times! You should be able to find a pajero with the complete setup over there. I wonder...

Daily Diesel - 1992 JDM Strada Quad Cab (resto-mod)

Oh absolutely! Appreciate the input. :victory: Just adding the other names from its repertoire. Actually the only real build threads I can find anywhere are from your neck of the woods, on Triton MH's and MJ's. I know this truck was sold throughout the world under various labels but finding...

Daily Diesel - 1992 JDM Strada Quad Cab (resto-mod)

Yeah, the truck of many names, right? Mighty Max, D50, Strada, Triton, and L200. So my search continued. Nothing came up for a few weeks after, when suddenly that maroon truck turned up at a popular reseller at the port of Kawasaki, with not that much mark up, and 38 pictures to peruse...

1997 Pajero Evolution (Old Betsy VII)

Sorry this update has taken so long. Been distracted with another project, and just enjoying this rig for what it is... Swapped the interior lights (dome and doors) to cheapie LED bayonet style bulbs. Drove it a bit this summer, mostly for shuttling mountain bikes to the trailhead. Entered a...

Daily Diesel - 1992 JDM Strada Quad Cab (resto-mod)

Haven't been on here much lately. Keep hoping for a resurgence in "that other place" but time is moving on. Figured it was high time to document my new projects from the past year... Time to play catch up... In 2006 I imported my first JDM, a 91 Pajero 4D56 diesel. Replaced this in 08 with a...

The Hyena. Turbo Diesel Gen 1 Build Thread.

Your stories are the best, dude. You and Driggs oughta co-author a book. Loving this build. It's what my pickup would be if it starred in an Anime! Keep telling your stories!

    The old 1999 build thread

Bahaha. I don't mind helping r&d buddy! Just a quick note about pajevo brakes - the calipers appear to be an exact match for gen3 front brakes. I haven't measured the rotors but I have a feeling they'll be the same too. I held up my gen3 caliper next to the pajevo and couldn't tell them apart...

    Build Thread: 2003 Montero XLS: Ol'Betsy #6

Oh, one other note - the gen3 got a new stable-mate last March. She'll be getting her own thread, but here's a sneak peek: Sent from my SM-T700 using Tapatalk

    Build Thread: 2003 Montero XLS: Ol'Betsy #6

I have done a few mods to the gen3 that I thought might be of interest... Firstly, I moved the hvac controls down to enable a double DIN stereo, complete with reverse cam. In the XLS clock space (compass for you LTD folks) I put a 7" Garmin GPS unit. It's epoxied in from the back, but it's...

any of you guys ever fit a cot in your Monty?

I found the worst thing with sleeping in the rig was the lack of headroom, when trying to get out of "bed". Mine was set up over top of the folded flat middle seats. I really should've just removed them, and I think it would've been more comfortable. At floor level, I'd imagine a low cot would...

Got my dad to join the Montero gang

"Gang?" Don't you mean "Cult"? :D Looks great bud. If it follows in your truck's tracks it's going to be one fine rig indeed.

Run your VIN ASAP if you own a Delica in the US!

I hesitate to wade into this discussion, as there are accusations going back and forth, but as an end consumer with 10 years of experience in importing JDM vehicles for non-business purposes, I feel compelled to throw a few things out for those who might be otherwise dissuaded against what could...

1997 Pajero Evolution (Old Betsy VII)

Would love that Moog part number! First two tanks: 14.5L/100km in mixed city/hwy driving. Been having fun with this rig - -installed a new double DIN head unit, with bluetooth. -Got those pesky locking lugs off through creative use of airplane rivets and a hammer, along with a 21mm thin wall...

    Stock Recovery Points?

Thanks! :) Loving it so far. I always use a shackle on the rear since it is a closed loop (shackles with a stamped WLL, working load limit, are the way to go), but just a strap on front since it's an open hook.

    Stock Recovery Points?

Front gen2 recovery point is on the RHS, and is a hook. The LHS is flatter and is definitely tie-down only. As for the back, I've used it on several vehicles. Using the right technique and equipment with it, the rear tow point is more than adequate.
