Hi all,
Long time member but new to "VanLife". Well not 100% new as I had a couple vans in my distant past... like before digital cameras and I didn't take any film pics back then. LOL Well I am now starting in a new direction for my overlanding journey. As I am getting older, I am having...
Only a couple that are coming out. Bean Squared and AOR Odyssey. The upcoming ARB Earth Camper could work but it's a little heavier.
Problem with all of them is, they are north of $70K. I really liked the pricing on the C10 and if it has a permanent bed, I would be putting a deposit down.
I was really happy to see this model popup and had been hoping it might fit our needs. I was ready to look at reserving one until... I found out the bed isn't a full time bed but has a slide out. That is the deal breaker. :( Our #1 requirement is a bed that does not need to be setup/taken...
I'm 5'9" but it seemed a little low and made it a little more difficult to get back up. I guess you might equate it to a standard height toilet versus an ADA height toilet. (IIRC 16" versus 18"). We have one of each in our house and I prefer the higher one. This getting old crap sucks!!! LOL
Really liked the HT we views at Overland Expo SoCal but my one complaint was, the seating areas are a little on the low side. It would have been nice if they were about 2" taller.
I was able to look at this and get inside it today at SoCal Overland Expo. Very nice rig and of everything I looked at, was the only slide in I would have taken home. Definitely love the height over the bed area and the windows.
This might give you an idea, though not a full blown walk through.
Go to 4:40 in the timeline and he goes over the door issues and shows it apart and putting back together.
I was saying more in general, Nissan should dump the CVT in the entire line. My S-I-L has a Toyota Corolla with CVT and I cannot stand driving it. I won't own anything with a CVT.
As for the Xterra, they need to bring something back that will compete with the 4Runner but not at 4Runner...
From what I have seen on videos, that is just a cover that can be removed. I would then work on it from the back side, lining up the crack and then using some plastic compatible super glue to hold it. Then I would go over with some fiberglass cloth and soak it in super glue, which should...
I was kinda liking the HT version until you posted these pics with a RT version. Wow does that HT look like a "tacked on" item. I think the black band really reinforces that. Color matched (like you showed in some mock up) would go a long way to taking that look away.
Do you have XPS foam between the tube areas? If I go that route, my plan is to do ACM inner and outer panels, with XPS foam glued between them. Almost like a composite panel but with the tube frame. Once completed, I would spray the whole thing with Raptorliner.
Got some more time to work on the drawing. Right now I am trying to decide if I want to do the tube frame with ACM panels or do a "Foamie" build. Pros and cons to each. I am going to get some pricing on what the cost is to do Polyurea over foam (a couple camper companies do this). I have...
