Hardsider wedge camper out of Ohio

Interesting that when I searched for "hardsider" on YouTube now, this video came up:

The video was posted on 1/27/25, and I've been searching for "hardsider" videos fairly regularly since joining this thread. Surprised my algorithm didn't pick it up any earlier.

Anyway, thought this customer's review was pretty interesting considering the only other review that's within this thread -- and they're both on F-150s.

Spent an hour on the phone with him last night.

Solid guy.

His wait time and communication was on par with most other peoples.

And outside of his struts failing the first time he used it and then waiting a couple weeks for replacement parts, his experience has been lightyears better than most I’ve spoken too.

I responded to the other thread in the for sale section, this is incredible that these guys have failed so spectacularly. this company will become a shining example of why you cant just imagine some concepts on a piece of paper and start taking deposits. I never saw their prototype in person at any of the expo shows but everything looked so solid on my computer screen, I was just sure that Hardsider was going to knock it out of the park.

I didnt think a company could screw up so badly. They dug a trench and lowered the bar.

FYI: they are still responding to SOME people and acting like everything is fine.

…While still holding the rest of our money.

They took my $7500 in July.

Promised my refund on 12/31

And now just ignore all calls/text/emails.

Their lack of ethics is staggering.

I feel sorry for everybody who lost money to these guys, I hope you recover. Trace everything and request chargebacks on your CC. Good luck!

Three months past the date they “committed to refunding my money” and still nothing.

And now it seems they are in a partnership with Storyteller Overland to produce sleeper pop tops for their vans.

I’m shocked such a revered company would get into bed with these charlatans and risk their own reputation.

Anyone here have a contact there to warn them?

Sorry guys, I don't check expedition portal enough. Here are some shots of my camper if they load. I haven't had a horrible experience with those guys. I got issues fixed, they mailed extra seals or anything I needed. Sam actually drove 7 hours to PA to finish stuff that they didn't have on hand during my install. I am thinking of selling mine actually though, I always was and always will be a truck camper guy but we are going to be doing the RV life this summer and I'll truck camp with my vintage truck.

I think mine went well because it was the first long bed model they made and I had some custom stuff going on. Lift up bed, my front panels are solid instead of doors. My install also took 8 hours, I didn't leave until at least the basics were covered. But things were definitely not all hunky dory. Noel talks a lot, I see right through that. Sam is awesome but he's not a professional installer so I helped with quite a bit of it. I got a decent unit but unfortunately I doubt they'll be around much longer.

I love how compact it is, my biggest complaint with my old FWC was the width and the weight. I have a 3500 so I can handle a heck of a lot but I don't want to. I want to places, whether it's Moab or a taco bell drive through. I can easily do it with a narrow, short unit like this. Mine will close with bedding, not pillows but bedding, I don't know what's different. My biggest gripe was that they didn't offer the solid roof panel in the long bed, Noel came up with some excuse about why it wouldn't work. I was excited to take the sleeper off and use my truck with just the rack portion as a truck cap. My other issue was the guy I talked to throughout the build process was Rabi, who promised literally everything and he doesn't work there anymore.

Wow. Nice to see that not everyone has been screwed over.

I’ve heard of multiple people having to sign NDA’s to get their money back and I haven’t heard a peep since January.

Despite telling me that my refund is forthcoming, they have decided that they deserve to keep my $7500 after wasting nine months of my time.

I recently had some of their unpaid vendors reach out as they are now stiffing the people that supply them with materials because they intend to outsource.

Sam just got back from China.

Yeah I heard he was over in China. Bad time to be doing that. Especially since their mantra was, there are still places in America where stuff is still made by craftsmen yada yada.
I got a decent unit and I won't feel bad selling it anyone else if I do decide to, but I will NOT endorse them. They don't have everything figured out and at this point they won't.

Your pictures show that they're spending tons of time and effort machining custom hinges, corners, connectors, etc. I suspect that's part of why they are having a hard time getting off the ground. Stuff like that takes time & money.

But I really like some of their design & features. The tailgate setup looks interesting. The ability to remove the tent is a plus. The rigid tent fabric is cool.

You can’t actually remove the sleeper. They have said that you can, but they have been unable to build one in over a year of taking people’s money.
