Looks great. Now that you have some time off you can design the power box for the tongue. By the time you recover you will be ready to start the build.
I see the yellow CJ in the background. Are you color matching jeep and trailer. That is my plan but it is going reeeeeeally slow.
A number of folks sell the part and I know that several sell the one made by Crown. It is called a leaf spring pivot eye bolt with grease fitting. Look for one that fits a CJ2 or CJ3. Almost all of the axle and spring hardware is from these vehicles.
Hope that helps.
I went with a tarp for a while and it worked great.
I was fortunate enough to get Sierra to build mine while he was not yet buried in work. Lids are costing more than the trailers. If I were 10 years younger I too would get a welder and take a shot at my own. Some great homemade lids have...
Struts will probably work great once you get the RTT on. Mine was the same way. Before I put on the tent, had I let go while closing, it would have shot up and broke my jaw. Now that the tent is on, it is great.
I am running the original axle and since I have a CJ the rims are the same. I am running 33x12.50x15 BFG KM2. NO problems but I have a SOA. Cannot remember backspaciing on a CJ but somewhere around 3.5"
I am late to the party---sorry.
Welcome to the m416 world where nothing is wrong as long as you like it.
I found that to get 33's under mine I had to do a SOA which is easy to do. No negatives with a SOA as long as it lines up OK with the tow vehicle. If you want to keep the emergency brake...
I have had the same problem with my trailer and tent. I looked at the "made for trailer" tents that have an annex room and most that I saw were in the $2k-$3K range and I could not go there.
My answer was to buy a ARB Simpson III and annex and have Rainy Pass Repair in WA cut 10" off the...
I have not taken the exact weight of the lid and tent but both are at least 100 lbs. each. The struts are 175 lbs each. They do help with the lift. Hard to start, mostly due to gasket making a tight seal. Once that breaks loose it goes up pretty easy. Not sure my wife could get it started...
When I was trying to get a good measurement I set the back panel on by itself and took my first measurement off of there. I finally ended up at 10" but if I was doing it again I would probably only do 9" but both would work for me and the bottom of my tent right at 5'.
Mine wants to come loose all the time. Supposedly designed for the Guest cord to plug into the back and then just plug the cord to the outside. Everytime I do it, if I don't hold it on the inside, the cord on the inside comes loose. It looks like a weak snap that holds the inside cord in...
