I had 1 window put on the curbside and the wood covering the whole top. Fiberine used 1/2" OSB guessing it added 50-60 pounds to the top. Your van won't notice a difference.
This would be my first course of action. Try to find a trustworthy friend who may have a couple days of vacation and is willing to road trip.
Beyond that maybe check with a local used car dealer and ask them who they use.
Is the bypass valve completely electric actuation? Or is it electric over vacuum?
Currently my exchanger runs wide open all of the time and I'm thinking I should add some sort of valving to close it off when not in use.
I have taken a piece by piece approach to building out my van.
I plan a trip and pick two or three projects to complete before the trip. This helps keep me in check and the projects small enough that they are not overwhelming.
As for the cost's to have a sportsmobile/CCV/Outside van do a...
Maybe I'm oversimplifying this but couldn't you use a cord with multiple outlets on it.

And then put the timer at the vehicle end of the cord. Block...
Here are a couple shots showing where our bed ended up. I personally don't think it's ideal and I would not want it any higher. But trying to build around having space on the floor for two dogs this is where it worked best.

Here is one^^^^^
I think more then anything when considering a conversion van is gauging the quality of the conversion. I looked at one before purchasing my cargo and it was trashed mostly...
G80 is the rpo code for a locking rear differential. There are also 2 options for gearing I believe, though I'm a little foggy on those details.
If you are looking for a passenger van I was finding quite a few ex government vans being sold at about the 90k mile mark. If you can find them those...
Curious what source you guys are using for part numbers?
I have found some very good OEM part's fische online for motorcycles but nothing too great for GM parts.
Unfortunately I am not sure if you had all of that information if it would help much. There are just too many variables.
How old the torsion bars are, how heavy is the van loaded, passenger or cargo van ect ect
I no longer know how my van compares to where it started stock it has just been too...
I was going to mention those torsion keys are quite pricey compared to other just as effective options. The keys I have in my van are from rough country and run about $100.
You may want to add longer U bolts to your list and possibly a 1” rear block depending on how high you crank the front...
It's not surprising to me at all.
There are not that many people willing to convert a van in the first place. Add to that Ujoint makes it so easy to convert a E series I just don't see enough demand to justify someone developing a DIY kit for the GM vans.
Johnny5?? Did document a solid axle...
I can't see why not. You are using all oem parts in their intended application. It seems to me if done by a qualified mechanic or someone with a little bit of attention to detail the end result would be just as reliable as factory.
I can't answer any of your specific questions.
But if it were me I would buy a entire awd donor to work with. Around here a couple grand will get you a decent running awd Astro.
Then you can see the condition of the drivetrain rather then trusting junkyard parts with no history. Parting out the...
