    97 F-350 CCLB build:

I got some stuff done on the new truck. Bought a bunch of Mobile 1 extended service full synthetic oil and a new filter. Changed the engine oil. Ordered a set of fender flares (because I like them and no other reason), got my tool chest in, ordered a new track bar and ball socket, and ordered a...

    97 F-350 CCLB build:

$17,250. Had 160,000 miles. 5 speed. Original paint. Very good condition. Did have a couple very small rust spots. I’ll say this.....I had people lined up to look at it. First guy that saw it-bought it. I came down very little on my price. I’ve seen them listed higher. I might have gotten more-...

I bought it! 2012 F-350. Drove from Nashville to central KY running 80 mph. Computer says 13 mpg. I’ll hand calculate soon. For now....lots of power. Huge usable rpm range! Locker works and the 4.30 gears are just fine. It’s night and day different than the obs I came out of.

    97 F-350 CCLB build:

Well.....it’s gone. I sold it today. I got what I was wanting for it. But it’s weird to me that it’s not mine. I was very proud to have owned it, and it served me well. I’m sure the new owner will like it. He seemed like a fine young fella. I’m lined up to look at a Super Duty first thing in the...

Thanks for the input. I won’t lie. There’s a big part of me that’s sad to see the obs go as well. But it just good economics. I love the truck, but I’ve drove it several years and it’s worth more than I paid for it. .......and I have two of them. So I still get to play. Thank you for the...

    97 F-350 CCLB build:

Idasho- I hope I’ve made a good decision. I think I have. Currently I’m looking at 2012-2015 trucks. All are 120-150k. One truck in particular is a 12 model. It has 150k on it....which is the most I’d want. But- it has aftermarket bumpers front and rear. It has 4.30 gears and factory locker in...

    97 F-350 CCLB build:

A buddy who does Facebook put it on some obs group. I don’t do Facebook so I don’t know which one. I think it’s sold. I have a guy coming with cash in hand after seeing about 50 pics of it. I’m assuming it’s gone....even though it’s still in my driveway. I’ve had a lot of interest in it. We...

It sure looks different. It’s listed. We’ll see what happens.

    97 F-350 CCLB build:

I see these old trucks listed very often crazy high priced. We’ll see what happens. It’s a great old truck and I’m happy to keep it If I can’t get a good price out of it. Like I said earlier.....for me, if I can sell it and end up with a newer gas powered truck paid for it’s a win. But if I...

    97 F-350 CCLB build:

It would be an easy decision if I didn’t actually like the old diesel truck. It’s perfect in nearly every way for what I set out to have in a truck....except maybe the manual transmission. When I set out to buy a crew long obs diesel I assumed it would be auto. Most were. But I’d been drooling...

    97 F-350 CCLB build:

I haven’t listed it yet. I believe I will. I want to put stock bumpers on it and strip off the stuff I want to keep. I may change my mind before I hit the “post” button. But I doubt it. I have a truck in my possession that could literally sell for twice what it’s actually worth. It’s pure...

    97 F-350 CCLB build:

It’s all good. I know you weren’t picking a fight. I did get a bit snarky though. I apologize for that. Thing is for me.....I’d just as soon pay the 16k and be done with it. I hate payments. And 150,000 or less miles will last me 10 years easy. I don’t put tons of miles on my trucks. And this...

Those old ford gas motors like 93 octane. They run on the cheap stuff but they tend to grumble about it. I paid a little over $3 a gallon yesterday.

    97 F-350 CCLB build:

It’s easy to forget that there’s always someone who will take every word literally. Maybe I chose my words poorly. But just in one evening of checking Craigslist I found 8 different trucks that were all white, base model 3/4 tons. And they had 8’ beds. Each had an auto, 6.2 gas, extended cabs...

    97 F-350 CCLB build:

Sounds like the consensus is to sell it....! I may list it with a silly high price and test the water a bit. Who knows? The truck I had before this OBS Power Stroke was a 3500 Dodge dually with a Cummins. I somehow managed to get way more than it was worth when I sold it. It does help that I...

    97 F-350 CCLB build:

I’m in a spot I thought I’d not be in for a long time. The other day I had a guy walk over to my truck and try to buy it. I brushed him off, thanked him for the compliments he’d payed and went on my way. But it got me thinking. I kinda figured I’d keep the truck a lot of years since it’s a bit...

    Project "Autonomous" F-350

Your camper design resembles one of them Eurika campers. They went out of business not long ago- but they sold several campers before they did. I like what you have going there.

    Destination Unknown - a 1997 F350 build

Both my trucks have done clunking. I’m pretty sure each is suffering from a bit of play in the splines of the steering shaft. It’s not bad enough to justify the expense of replacing them. However- my flatbed truck (460) has a different clunk from time to time on rough terrain at speed. I can’t...

    97 F-350 CCLB build:

It’s absolutely growing on me. I have two of these old trucks. They are basically identical- the difference being that the other truck has a 460 and a flat bed. It’s my work truck. Unfortunately a few days ago something screwed up with the clutch and it’s not really drivable. I already have a...
